Average graphics and repetitive gameplay diminish the fun
When I play Yamaha Supercross on the Nintendo Wii, it feels like I’m stepping into the shoes of the younger brother of a famous supercross rider. The story starts off exciting with your brother’s injury, giving me an immediate reason to seek revenge and become the champion. It’s cool to see how you progress through different championships in the tournament mode. The arcade mode offers quick races for when you want to play for a short while, and the challenge mode keeps things interesting with stunts you can perform.
Despite the game offering various modes, I do notice that the graphics aren’t very impressive. On the Nintendo Wii, I had hoped for motion controls, but unfortunately, they’re missing. This makes the gameplay somewhat repetitive at times, especially compared to other motocross games I’ve played. It’s a shame that these elements aren’t better developed, as the story and setup are quite interesting in themselves.
Still, I found Yamaha Supercross on the Nintendo Wii enjoyable overall, especially due to the story and the chance to try out different modes. Although the game isn’t perfect and sometimes falls short in execution, it still provides a fun experience for anyone who loves motocross and wants to step into the shoes of a young rider.
