Reviews Wii Sports 23 reviews - average rating 8,1Perfect introduction to Wii motions with fun party games Great game that you should buy....uhm, try, because you actually get it for free when you buy the Wii. The games help you learn the Wii way of moving perfectly. At the beginning, you'll be breaking a sweat, especially with boxing. Fun and varied games that you play with your Mii. Of course, since it's a party game, Wii Sports is quite limited in what you can do for each sport. If you really enjoy a particular sport, you can always buy a game that focuses solely on that sport, like Topspin for tennis. It's fun to play with your own Mii and improve it to become a Pro in all sports. I find it most enjoyable to play together with others, which is why this game is mostly played when multiple people want to join in.
One small downside: unfortunately, you quickly realize that you can achieve the same results by being lazy on the couch with just a small movement. Cijfer:

Wii Sports: The perfect starter game that never gets boring Have you saved up for your Wii for so long, finally got it... and now your pocket money is gone and you can't buy any games! Because what's the use of a Wii without a game? But luckily, you get Wii Sports for free. The great thing about Wii Sports is that you can really learn how to Wii.
And this game never gets boring, it just remains fun to play it with your friends! Cijfer:

Fun Illustrative Game for the Wii! Wii Sports is a fun game that really showcases what the Wii can do! You got it for free when you bought a Wii.
It's not an overwhelmingly top game, but you can definitely have many hours of fun with it! I always set challenges for myself, like getting a certain number of strikes in bowling, not getting knocked out in boxing, hitting a hole in one in golf, or hitting a home run out of the stadium in baseball!
You play with your own Mii, which gives a nice personal connection to the game. Some games, however, don't require you to move ridiculously much, which is a bit of a shame! For example, in tennis, you can just shake your remote wildly back and forth and easily win.
Wii Sports is an incredibly fun entry game for the Wii and it's actually a must-have ;) Cijfer:

A very fun game to play both alone and with friends Wii Sports has become a true classic over time. The game showcases well what the Wii is all about: motion control. What is surprising is that I find myself going back to Wii Sports every now and then, even though it's such a simple game and essentially a kind of demo to show what the Wii can do. The games are just fun to play, both alone and with friends. You can choose from: tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, and boxing. A game that everyone can appreciate. Cijfer:
9,0Perfect for Family Sessions: Active Fun with Motion Sensors Wii Sports is the perfect introductory game for the Wii. The Wii controller has motion sensors that require you to actually act as if you are playing sports.
It's not a game you'll spend hours playing alone. But with the whole family, it's a lot of fun! Make sure to use the wrist strap, or accidents might happen! Check out the link from Wii have a problem on the side as well. Cijfer:

Perfect introduction to the Wii with a variety of sports Wii Sports is a great game to introduce people to the Wii, or simply to gaming. The game comes for free with your Wii in Europe and America, so you don't even have to pay extra for it! The game consists of several sports, with tennis probably being the most played. Besides tennis, you can also bowl, play baseball, golf, and box. The tennis aspect isn't very well developed; giving spin with the remote doesn't make a difference, and waving is just as effective as well-timed hits. Boxing requires both the Remote and Nunchuk and is especially fun with two players. Overall, a fun game, especially considering the price. Cijfer:

Versatile sports games and perfect for parties
I really enjoy Wii Sports, a big plus is that you get it for free with the Wii. There are many different sports to play, you can play tennis, boxing, bowling, and much more. There is also Fitness, where you have to do different sports and based on the results, it calculates what sports age you have, and keeps a nice graph of it.
The games can be played from 1 to 4 players, so it's also great fun at a birthday or party.
In short: a game you won't get bored of quickly! Cijfer:
8,5Perfect Introductory Game, But Quickly Becomes Monotonous This is the perfect introductory game for the Wii. It's simple to use and you get to discover all the things you can do with the Wii controller! However, it becomes very monotonous and after 1 week, I was already getting bored with it. Good as an introductory game, but maybe Nintendo could have put a bit more effort into it. I, for one, put Wii Sports away in the cupboard after just 1 week. Cijfer:

Perfect family fun with Wii Sports Wii Sports is a fun game for the whole family, which many players find permanently stuck in their Wii!
The controls could have been a bit more extensive, and there were a few too few sports. However, Wii Sports still provides a dozen enjoyable hours of play! Cijfer:

Fun first game, but boxing doesn't work well When you buy a Wii, Wii Sports is often included as a standard game. A good choice, because it's nice to have a good first game. I can handle all the sports well, except boxing, which I find annoying. The controls don't work great for boxing. (It might just be me though!) That's why I'm not giving it a 10. Cijfer:

Fun, but Wii Sports Resort is better Wii Sports is probably the most well-known game for the Wii. Also because it was included in most Nintendo Wii bundles. You have tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing. I think that Wii Sports Resort offers much more than Wii Sports, but because this game has tennis and baseball, I still play it quite often. Tennis is incredibly fun and works just like in real life. Baseball is also a lot of fun. Here you have a team consisting of all your Mii characters, which is quite amusing. Golf and bowling are quite boring in this version and only have the basics. Wii Sports Resort offers more in this regard. Boxing is also quite amusing.
You also have fitness and training. In fitness, you do multiple sports in a row and have to hit as many times as possible within a certain time, for example. In training, it starts easy and gets progressively harder until you're out. This way, you can continually improve your high scores. Cijfer:
7,0Fun tech demo for multiplayer enjoyment Wii Sports was the game that had to showcase all the possibilities with the Wii Remote.
It was immediately clear to me that this was actually a tech demo rather than a full game, so I will evaluate it as such.

Wii Sports features 5 sports: Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf, and Boxing.
Boxing uses the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, unfortunately, it seems quite difficult to register the right movements, resulting in wildly swinging around in the hope of knocking out your opponent.
Baseball works with just the Wii Remote and registers movements more accurately than Boxing.
The game remains very simple, you can hit and pitch. When pitching, you have the option to throw with a certain effect by holding down a corresponding button on the Wii Remote while throwing.
Batting is self-explanatory, you make a swing at the right moment to try to hit the ball out of the park.
Unfortunately, you have no control over the field players, which can be frustrating due to the rather dumb AI.
In Golf, you use the Wii Remote as a golf club. The power of the swing is shown in a bar on the side of the screen.
The number of courses is decent for a tech demo, and I don't have much to criticize about Golf. A decent game.
Bowling is a fun game until you figure out how to consistently throw strikes. Everyone has their own method for this, but strikes keep coming.
Tennis is probably the most enjoyable of the 5. Again, it has the same simple gameplay, but fortunately, it's a bit less frustrating here. Unfortunately, you also have no control over the players except for hitting with the racket.
Besides these 5 sports, there are also mini-games. This is a nice addition, but it doesn't add much to the overall picture.
Conclusion:
Wii Sports is a fun tech demo that is best played with friends or family. If you play alone, there's a good chance it will quickly end up back in the closet. Hide. Cijfer:

Interactive and enjoyable gaming experience with friends and family Wii Sports is a super fun game for the Nintendo Wii! You can play various sports like tennis, bowling, and golf using the Wii controller. Playing this on our couch always brings a lot of fun, especially with friends and family. The graphics are simple yet colorful, and the gameplay is easy to grasp, even for beginners.
Each sport in Wii Sports offers unique challenges. I particularly enjoy honing my skills in tennis, where you really have to move to hit the ball well. Bowling feels very realistic, and in golf, you need to aim carefully and gauge your swing power. This variety keeps the game engaging and motivates you to improve constantly.
For me, this game is perfect for anyone who enjoys active gaming. It provides hours of fun and comes highly recommended! Wii Sports is not just a game but an experience shared with others, making it even more enjoyable. Cijfer:

Versatile sports games for everyone Wii Sports is known to everyone who buys the Wii. Wii Sports offers a variety of sports games. What I like most is that you have different games for the same sport. This way, you learn in certain ways how to improve in a real match. Cijfer:

Always fun! You can play 5 different sports in Wii Sports: tennis, golf, bowling, boxing, and baseball. All of them are enjoyable sports! The great thing about the game is that the controls are simple, so everyone can join in. You can also score points by playing the games well, allowing you to level up! There is plenty of challenge in Wii Sports.
Chances are you already have this game since it comes free with your Wii. But if you don't have it yet, you definitely won't regret buying it now! Cijfer:

A tremendously fun family game! Wii Sports is truly a fun game to play with your family and friends! Even though it's already 15 years old, it still feels like a breath of fresh air. Personally, I find that the mini-games don't get boring quickly and are actually enjoyable to replay in order to improve your high score (or someone else's). It would be nice to have more mini-games available, but since the game originally came free with the Wii, I don't mind that much.
If this game seems appealing to you, I also recommend playing it in combination with Wii Sports Resort. It's essentially this game, but even more extensive! Cijfer:

Perfect introduction to the Wii with great gameplay For almost everyone in the Wii community, Wii Sports is the first game. And in my opinion, one of the best when it comes to capturing the Wii feeling. Excellent use of the Controller(s) and superb gameplay. There's still no better version of 'bowling' on the market.
Even though we don't play it as often anymore, it remains a top favorite ;-) Cijfer:

Cute game to play with friends This game features 5 sports: tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing. Instead of pressing buttons to perform actions, you now have to make the movements yourself, making it very easy to play for people who are new to gaming. It's also fun to play with friends who don't usually game, and you always end up having a laugh. Additionally, Wii Sports is more of a tech demo to showcase what the Wii is capable of. Cijfer:
8,0Great game for the Wii Everyone who has or had a Wii has probably played Wii Sports at some point! How cool is it to be able to move around with a gaming console? You can play golf, bowl, box, play baseball, and tennis. The motion controls work really well with this game. Don't hesitate! Cijfer:

29 tips: 16 Personal tips - 5 Cheats and Codes - 5 Secrets - 3 Easter Eggs and GlitchesPersonal tip: How can you quickly achieve Pro status in Tennis on Wii Sports? Steffen | | 1934 | | 11 jaar |
You can easily train 2 people in Tennis on Wii Sports. (This only works for Tennis!) You just have to play together against the computer. Both will quickly train and reach Pro status. Losing once is not a big deal, no points are deducted when playing together. That's how I became a Pro too. Personal tip: How do you throw a curveball in baseball on the Wii? When you're playing baseball and it's your turn to pitch, remember to hold down the A button, B button, or both when you throw to pitch a curveball. Be careful when pressing A and B at the same time, as you might risk throwing a wild pitch, allowing the batter to advance to first base! Easter Eggs and Glitches: How do you throw the ball backwards when bowling in Wii Sports? Joeryz | | 556 |
If you hold down the B button while bowling in Wii Sports and release it when you swing backwards, the ball will go backwards and the audience will jump up (they also have no legs)!! Read more tips and secrets.Personal tip: How can I make the ball go super fast when bowling in Wii Sports? If you've aimed accurately while bowling and you press B, stop at the line where you would normally release. Keep B pressed.
Swing back and the ball will go flying in Wii Sports! Cheats and Codes: How can I change the color of my bowling ball? Is that blue bowling ball also boring you? Luckily, it's possible to change the color of the ball. Hold the control pad up before you start bowling | A blue ball | Hold the control pad down before you start bowling | A green ball | Hold the control pad right before you start bowling | A golden ball | Hold the control pad left before you start bowling | A red ball | Achieve pro level | A ball with diamond shapes on it |
Cheats and Codes: How can I achieve a strike in 100-pin bowling? Colijn10 | | 2171 |
You have to walk all the way to the right or to the left side of the field, by the Wii Sports rail. It's better if your Mii is left-handed to go to the right side, and if your Mii is right-handed, you better go to the left side. (From now on, I will only give instructions for the left hand, so if your Mii is right-handed, you should do everything the other way around!) So when you are all the way to the right, you should take two steps to the left. Now you have to press A, now you can determine the direction... Press right 1 or two times. Click on A again, now you can walk again... Now go all the way back to the right, and throw.... The ball rolls (not always) all the way over the rails to the end, and you hear a little click. Suddenly there is an earthquake and all the poles crash down. Personal tip: How can I prevent my opponent from hitting a home run in baseball on Wii Sports? If you want to make sure your opponent never hits a home run in baseball, make sure to hold down the 2-button while throwing the ball: this way you'll throw underhand, making it harder for your opponent to hit the ball up high, resulting in shorter and lower hits in Wii Sports. Personal tip: How can I knock someone out as quickly as possible in boxing? Quintennnn n | | 330 | | 10 jaar |
If you want to knock someone out as quickly as possible in boxing, you should aim for the side of the head. You can do this by moving your Wii Sports controller all the way out and then back in. Personal tip: How can I easily win at boxing? Britt | | 2364 | | 13 jaar |
If you're boxing and looking for an easy win, try moving your Wii Remote quickly from left to right to make your Mii perform feints. This will make it difficult for your opponent to hit you. When they miss, the game goes into slow motion, giving you the perfect opportunity to land a hit that will always connect and deplete their health significantly. This way, winning becomes a breeze! Personal tip: How can I aim with the Wii Remote during a baseball game? If you're the fielding team and you have to pitch, you can use the directional buttons to aim in Wii Sports. But be careful:
If you veer too much to the left or right, and the opponent tries NOT to hit the ball, then it's a BALL. 4 times a Ball and your opponent gets to walk to a base. Personal tip: How do you perform the super swing in Wii Sports? Larsortiz | | 239 | | 12 jaar |
When you're up to bat in Wii Sports, you toss the ball up with your Wii Remote and quickly bring it back down. If you do it right, you'll perform a super hit. Secrets: How do you choose a different tennis court in Wii Sports? DejaVu | | 341 |
After selecting your players and teams, a warning screen will appear on Wii Sports.
Now, hold down the 2 button and then press A to proceed. (Keep button 2 pressed until the lane is loaded.) Easter Eggs and Glitches: How can I make the audience laugh while bowling? If you want to add a bit of humor to the Wii Sports audience while bowling, try throwing the ball into the gutter of another lane: you'll hear laughter right away, and become the crowd favorite of the match... Cheats and Codes: How do you score a strike with the last 91 pins in Power Throws on Wii Sports? Suppernick | | 423 |
This is how you can get a strike in Wii Sports on the last 91 pins of Power Throws! Set your aiming line all the way to the right, then move back slightly to the left.
Press A to enable a slight spin, turn it to the right until you can't go any further. Then throw the ball over the edge all the way to the other side, do this with a spin to the left, or you'll just hit the gutter.
When the ball reaches the end, there will be a bang and all 91 pins will fall! Secrets: How can I hit a hole in one in Wii Sports golf? Game-nes | | 125 |
In Wii Sports, there are only a few holes where you can hit a hole in one while playing golf. The first one is hole 2. It's easiest when there is no wind. Aim just next to the flag and hit with 3/4 power. If you do all this correctly, you will probably hit a hole in one. Personal tip: How can I achieve a super powerful serve in tennis? To get a super powerful serve in tennis, you need to serve the ball and hit it at the highest point in Wii Sports. This takes some practice, but it's very useful! Secrets: How can I knock down all 100 bowling pins in the Wii Sports 100 pin game? Thomasr45 | | 570 |
You have to roll the ball over the rail next to the lane in Wii Sports, and there it will hit a button causing all one hundred of them to fall. Personal tip: How can I throw the ball into the crowd while bowling? Kevin1325 | | 2027 | | 14 jaar |
When bowling in Wii Sports, you can throw the ball into the audience by releasing it at an angle behind you when bringing the ball back. Personal tip: How can I improve my tennis skills with my racket on the right side? Piplup | | 70 | | 13 jaar |
If you're playing tennis and your racket is on the right side, you usually want to hit to the right,
but then the ball just goes to the left.
If you want to try hitting to the right, wait as long as possible until the ball reaches the racket and hit as quickly as possible before it's too late.
The same story applies to the left.
It does get more difficult when your opponents are of a high level.
But with a lot of practice, you'll manage.
Good luck! Cheats and Codes: What is the best tactic to throw a strike in bowling? Rik999 | | 832 |
When bowling, the tactic is to walk a bit to the right and throw at a slight angle.
This way you'll score a strike faster than if you throw straight in Wii Sports. Personal tip: How do you play the 100 pin game on a Wii console? Wii | | 725 | | 11 jaar |
Go all the way to the right, then a tiny bit to the left. After that, turn to the right and throw it over the edge. A few seconds later, a bomb will explode and you'll have everything around you, and if you don't succeed the first time, practice a lot because it's quite tricky. Cheats and Codes: Where can I find cheats and codes for Wii games? Giaci007 | | 468 |
You can find more cheats and codes at Wii Sports. Secrets: How can I attract more fans to Tennis? Wesley123 | | 3535 |
In Tennis, it's possible to attract more fans, or rather, a bigger audience. You just need to reach the Pro level (1000 points) and the stadium will fill up with more spectators from Wii Sports. Easter Eggs and Glitches: How can I attract more spectators to tennis matches? Gideon van diggelen | | 280 |
The more skill points you have in tennis in Wii Sports, the more people are in the audience. If you're a pro (with 1000 skill points), the audience is always completely full. Personal tip: How can I score a lot of points with Tennis in the Time Your Swing exercise? Essie007 | | 283 | | 13 jaar |
Do you want to score a lot of points in tennis with the Time Your Swing exercise in Wii Sports? When aiming to the left, make sure to swing early. When aiming to the right, swing late. This way, you'll hit the ball right on target every time! Personal tip: How can I score more points with the "time your swing" exercise in tennis? Essie007 | | 283 | | 13 jaar |
Do you want to score a lot of points in tennis with the exercise: time your swing? If you need to aim to the left, you should swing early. If you want to aim to the right, you should swing late. This way, the ball will definitely end up in the right spot in Wii Sports! Personal tip: How can I incorporate daily training to improve my results and look younger in Wii Sports? Juultje | | 631 | | 13 jaar |
You can do a training session every day in Wii Sports. Try to improve your results every day. If you perform poorly, they will estimate you as older. If you do well, they will estimate you as younger. Secrets: How can I make my Mii in Wii Sports fight with silver boxing gloves? If you defeat the champion Matt (also the person you train with during the boxing sessions in 'Training' or 'Fitness'), your Mii will now fight with silver boxing gloves in Wii Sports. Personal tip: How can I win at tennis? Gideon van diggelen | | 280 | | 14 jaar |
If the ball is coming towards you and you hit early with your racket, the ball will be shot at a steep angle. But if you hit later, you will hit the ball much straighter. With a bit of practice, you can aim the ball very well and score points much easier in Wii Sports. Less tips and secrets.
