Reviews Super Paper Mario 19 reviews - average rating 8,0Humor and Unique Characters in Super Paper Mario Super Paper Mario is a fun game. I do miss the old battle system they removed. However, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the real-time fighting with Team Mario. Luckily, the humor is back. For example, at one point, Peach gets a role in a virtual sim dating program. It's also cool that you get to play as Mario, Bowser, Luigi, or Peach. Each character has a different ability. Mario can switch from 2D to 3D, Peach can float with her parasol or use it to shield herself. I also really like the story. Besides the "saving-the-world plot," there's also a "I-didn't-see-that-coming secret." I find it a very enjoyable game, but I do think its predecessors are slightly better. Cijfer:
8,0Unique 2D to 3D gameplay, but story can be a bit long-winded Super Paper Mario: I waited long for this, and it was... disappointing. Sometimes you just wish people would keep their mouths shut for a bit. The story was good, but at certain points, it dragged on a bit too much.
Overall, it's a fun game, the tricks you can pull off are amazing, the transition from 2D to 3D was quite an experience at the start. It was also enjoyable being able to play with characters like Peach and Bowser. The pixels, your helpers, are well thought out too. I played this game once, then set it aside. It didn't hold my interest as much, I'd rather see a Paper Mario in the style of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. :-) Cijfer:

Fun game, but not as good as the Gamecube version Super Paper Mario is a very enjoyable game, but not as good as the Gamecube installment in the series, Paper Mario The Thousand Years Door. I would love to see another installment like that on the Wii.
The concept of Super Paper Mario is really cool, especially with all the Pixls involved. However, some pixels are completely useless, and I would have preferred if they were left out. In conclusion, Super Paper Mario comes recommended, but it's not the best entry in its series. Cijfer:

From RPG to Platformer: Mixed Feelings Why did they switch from a traditional RPG to a platformer? Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door were enjoyable RPGs. Super Paper Mario is fun but more like the old Super Mario games with a few RPG elements. A fun game but I would have preferred a real RPG. Cijfer:

Original Twist on the Paper Mario Series, but Lacks the Brilliance of Previous Installments Super Paper Mario mainly aims to be original within the Paper Mario series, which was starting to feel a bit monotonous. It achieves this by combining classic platform action with RPG elements. The unique aspect of this installment is that you can rotate flat 2D levels, allowing you to suddenly see into the depth. Fun, but it also reveals how empty everything is... Nonetheless, it's a decent game, but personally, I could have done without this innovation. The previous two installments are truly brilliant, and unfortunately, this one falls short of that standard. Cijfer:
8,0Unique 3D elements and innovative Pixls This game is really cool! Something different for a change, I'd say.
The story may be a bit long-winded, but overall easy to follow. Maybe because Mario himself and the environment are depicted so simply, it's clear. Discovering everything in 3D is awesome!
Those 'Pixls' are also cleverly designed. I'm really pleased with Super Paper Mario! Cijfer:
9,5Not as good as its predecessors, but still enjoyable Unlike the previous two Paper Mario installments, the battles in Super Paper Mario for the Wii are no longer turn-based, but real-time, and that's a shame. It's more chaotic and partially takes away the element of strategy. Additionally, there seems to be a certain laziness here and there (at one point you are expected to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for 10 minutes), but overall, it's still a great game! Cijfer:
7,6A great Paper Mario game with a unique twist! Super Paper Mario for the Wii is a unique blend of platform and RPG elements, giving the well-known Paper Mario series an interesting spin. The game combines charming 2D graphics with an innovative 'flip' mechanism that allows you to switch between 2D and 3D worlds. The storyline is engaging and humorous, with characters displaying strong personalities.
The gameplay is accessible and provides a good balance between action and puzzles. The RPG aspect shines through in the ability to upgrade characters and use special powers. The music and visual presentation are excellent and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the game.
While Super Paper Mario may not be as deep as some other RPGs, it offers a refreshing experience and a pleasant change from traditional platform games. Fans of the series will appreciate the unique approach, while newcomers will be drawn in by the original concept and the game's charm. Cijfer:

Unique 2D to 3D gameplay with a focus on collecting and tactics Our paper Mario is going 3D. But he doesn't stay there for very long. The fun part is that you can escape the 2D world for a short time to avoid enemies and solve puzzles. The difference with Super Mario Galaxy is that the emphasis now lies more on collecting, tactics, and story rather than agility and jumping around.Super Paper Mario Cijfer:

Eventually Hooked When I first started playing this, I was really disappointed. The story didn't appeal to me at first. But as I progressed, it became more enjoyable and clearer. I'm now in the very last chapter, started last Thursday. (Addicted much, huh? :-))
Going from 2D to 3D is a lot of fun, you now have to put more effort into figuring out how it all works. Super Paper Mario Cijfer:

Long but not bad Super Paper Mario is, in my opinion, the last truly good game the Paper Mario franchise has had. The game is very enjoyable to play and is also very original. The 2D-3D system provides interesting gameplay and puzzles. The pixls are a fun addition.
The only downside I find with the game is its length. The game is incredibly long, a bit too long in my opinion. But if you're a big fan of the game, that can only be a good thing, right? Cijfer:

A very good Super Paper Mario game
Paper Mario is a beloved series among many fans. A lot of these fans don't consider Super Paper Mario to be a good game because it tries something new. However, I actually appreciate the fact that they are trying something different with this game. In the previous Paper Mario games, there was a combat system. This has been replaced by how you defeat enemies in the 2D platformers: by jumping on them!
Super Paper Mario is still a very good Mario RPG game that combines elements from the previous Paper Mario games with elements from 2D platformers like Mario Bros.
Another new element is that you can now switch between 2D and 3D.
Once again, there are numerous things to collect, keeping you entertained for quite a while with this game.
It's not too difficult, but it's not exactly easy either, so everyone can enjoy playing this. Cijfer:

Engaging game with fun hidden elements and music I disagree with the Poor badge. I actually find the music quite enjoyable :). Furthermore, I think it's a very fun game that is quite engaging, with fun hidden elements :). I rate Super Paper Mario an 8.7 because any Mario enthusiast should definitely have this one! Cijfer:

For instance, you earn points when defeating monsters, and the worlds look amazing too! Super Paper Mario comes highly recommended for the fans! Cijfer:

Many secrets and a beautiful story Some say this is a demo for Mario Galaxy. Well, to those people, I want to say that is not true. Super Paper Mario may not be the best Mario game, but it sure is fun. With many secrets and a beautiful story. I think an 8.5 is a fair score!!!Super Paper Mario Cijfer:

With 3D feature! Super Paper Mario is a fun game, especially with its 3D feature and the ability to play as Bowser. Whether it's 3D or not, the game can get a bit boring at times, but hey, you can't have it all. Luckily, it's not a waste of money, but it's a matter of personal taste. Cijfer:
7,5Challenging yet fun Mario game Super Paper Mario is a really good game. There is a lot to do. You can play in 2D and 3D. The storyline is okay, but can be quite unclear at times. The game is also very challenging for young children. And it doesn't really feel like a typical Mario game. But that shouldn't spoil the fun! The graphics are very good. Don't hesitate and get it in your home today! Cijfer:

Good, but not the best in the series While Super Paper Mario may not be my favorite in the series, it remains an excellent adventure. Mario's unique paper form brings about funny and creative gameplay elements. The story is engaging, and the puzzles are challenging enough to keep you entertained. Definitely worth a try! Cijfer:

Personal tip: How can I progress if I'm stuck in Super Paper Mario? Jari | | 3024 | | 13 jaar |
Stuck in the game and feeling like you can't progress any further? Why not try 'flipping' from 2D to 3D, this often helps you find the solution in Super Paper Mario!
If switching to 3D doesn't do the trick either, point your Wii remote at the screen and look for a secret passage or door! Secrets: How do you obtain secret Pixls in Super Paper Mario? Ikke | | 239 |
There are different Pixls that help you in the game, like Tippi, Boomer, Slim, etc..., but there are also secret Pixls that you don't need to complete the game, but are still useful. Pixls: | How to get him? | What he does? | Barry | After completing Chapter 3, go to the bush where Barry was, press A and after a conversation, you will get him. | When Barry is activated, a kind of spiky shield will surround you, attacking enemies. | Dashell | Complete the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials, he will be in a chest. | When Dashell is activated, you will walk about twice as fast. Note: it doesn't attack enemies. | Piccolo | (How to get her? (yes, she's a girl)) To get Piccolo, you'll need to do some tasks. First, go to Flopside, to Merlee's house, and talk to her. Then go to Flipside, to Merluvlee's house and talk to her. Next, go to chapter 1-1, to Bestovius, and talk to him. Then go to 1-2, talk to Watchitt in Yold Town. Proceed to 1-4, to the end, talk to Merlumina. Then go through the whole list again, but in reverse. Once you have the key, go to the closed house near the Card Shop (Flopside). Open it, and Piccolo will be in the chest. | (What she does) When Piccolo is activated, she plays a tune that heals the status of your character (a different tune for each character). It's always a remix of a piece of Flipside music. It also changes the sound of your jump and some other things. | |

Here are some secrets in this game: Infinite 3D with Mario: Beat Flopside Pit of 100 Trials twice and get Mario's Card. This will allow you to go in 3D for as long as you want! Game Arcade: When you go into 3D mode while in the coffee shop in Flipside B1, you'll have access to a golden pipe that takes you to an arcade where you can play three different arcade games using various features of the Wii Remote. A fourth game can be unlocked if you have a Gold Card (available in the Flopside Milk Bar by going in 3D and opening a treasure chest). Easy way to get Infinite Experience: Need to level up but keep dying in the Pit of 100 Trials? Once you've completed chapter 5 (The one with the Crags and the Sapiens), you can go back to 5-4. Remember that pipe that keeps sending annoying Sapiens? Just jump on the block next to it, then use Bowser's flame, and he will keep killing the Sapiens because they just keep coming, giving you 500 experience every 3 or 4 seconds and 10,000 or 7,500 per minute! (Note: This has been corrected in the PAL version) Below is a special video to gain a lot of experience, This happens in the first part of chapter 5-3 in the second room, there are Buzzy Beetles and Spiky Buzzy Beetles. First, lure them into the spaces between the pipes, then jump on top of them, and see what happens next (you'll see it best if you play the video from 33 sec): Personal tip: How can I easily earn Rubies in Super Paper Mario? If you want to score a lot of points, you should head to chapter 1-1 in Super Paper Mario. Look for a square, purple creature there (I believe it's called a squig). Then, choose Carrie and position yourself in front of the creature. It will shoot a rock at you. Jump on it and keep the 2 button pressed the whole time. Just before you land, it will have already spat out a new rock. Jump on that one too. You'll get 10 points for the first rock, 20 for the second, and so on.
Note: This trick does NOT work with Peach. Secrets: How can I obtain the secret pixel Tiptron in Super Paper Mario? In the last chapter of Super Paper Mario, you suddenly encounter Merlee in the 2nd level. What is she doing in Count Black's castle? Of course, it's Mimi disguised as Merlee! She will ask you three times what you find most terrifying. Make sure to respond with what you find most delightful. In the next 3 rooms, you will see everything you just mentioned. If you pick these up, you'll receive them. One time, there will be a Super Shroom Shake as an option (if you consume this, you'll get 50 HP). Naturally, you should choose that one! Once you've completed the level and return to that spot, Mimi will be gone. So, you can only do this once. Secrets: How can I get extra cards in Paper Mario for the Wii? Gycio | | 630 |

Personal tip: How do I defeat Mr. L's brobot in chapter 6-1 of the game? When you're in chapter 6-1 and everything is completely white, and you have to fight Mr. L's brobot, make sure to use a volt shroom. Struggling with the final boss of Chapter 7???
Then with Luigi, every time he bends down, press the down arrow and then jump up against his head.
After that, when you're flattened by the ceiling, send yourself towards him to hit him one more time (this deals 12 to 14 damage to him at level 12 and defeats him easily). Personal tip: How can Peach's parasol help you cover long distances and land precisely on enemies in Super Paper Mario? Personal tip: How do you defeat the robot dragon in Super Paper Mario? Annelie | | 10 jaar |
When you have to fight a robot dragon in Super Paper Mario, you need to hit its weak spot. Its weak spot is that thing with a little ball on top near its head. In the video, it shows how you can get a lot of coins in Super Paper Mario. It's only in English, so here it is again below.
Requirements:
1 catch card (tip: use a catch card SP, you can buy it for 100 coins in Flopside at the card shop. Then it always works)
You need to have unlocked chapter 5-2.
Go to chapter 5-2.
Walk to the right and enter the door. Then walk to the right again and enter the first door you come across.
Jump over the gap and go into 3-D. There you will find a golden living flower. Now use your catch card. You now have a card of that golden flower.
Now go back to Flipside or Flopside village. Sell your card of the golden flower there. It's worth 300 coins. Personal tip: How can I easily defeat the Sammer Kingdom Challenge? Lemmyfan39 6 | | 575 | | 13 jaar |
You have 2 options, option 1 is easy in the early levels, method 2 is good for everything.
Method 1: Use Bowser and simply keep using his flames constantly until the Sammer guys are defeated. This also works quickly as you deal double the damage. In the later levels, this becomes difficult as the Sammer guys will try to flee, just follow them and keep using your flame attack until the Sammer guy is cornered and can't escape. Later on, this becomes impossible due to the ninjas and projectiles.
Method 2: Just switch to Pixl Barry, and every time the Sammer Guy attacks, press 1, this not only provides protection but also deals damage! Use this throughout each level.
Personal tip: How can I quickly earn EXP in Super Paper Mario by grabbing the Mushroom in chapter 1-1? GycioS | | 165 | | 13 jaar |
After receiving the pipe to go back from a chapter and clearing the first world, head to chapter 1-1 of Super Paper Mario and grab the mushroom. Use the pipe to return again. Repeat this process. There are other levels where this is possible, but this one makes it easy to grab it. Easter Eggs and Glitches: Why does the robot dragon in Super Paper Mario say "I am error"? Megamen | | 2003 |
Before you fight the robot dragon in Super Paper Mario, he says: "I am error." A man in Zelda II also says this. (You can see it at 2:10 in the video.) Personal tip: How can I easily defeat Count Bleck? Rafaeljust | | 75 | | 13 jaar |
Once you have disabled Count Bleck's shield (jump on it a few times), you will get the other characters back. Keep Luigi on the ground and use Dottie (the Pixl that makes you smaller) to easily dodge the attacks.
When Count Bleck comes down, stand under his platform and perform a super jump (hold down the directional button and then release it). Be careful with his dash attack (he flies towards you), it's best to jump on him!
Also, watch out for his black hole; just run in the opposite direction! Personal tip: How do you pick up items in Super Paper Mario? Lifting in Super Paper Mario isn't that difficult; you just need to stand close to something and activate your 'Pixl'. When you encounter enemies, like Goombas or others, you can pick them up and throw them at another creature. This makes things go faster and easier! Less tips and secrets.
