To be honest, I haven't watched the DVD; I could hardly wait to play the game itself, and now that I'm immersed in it, I find the DVD a bit unnecessary.
With most games, you see that the sequels aren't really improved, but fortunately, that's not the case with Super Mario Galaxy 2! I'm not sure if I'm expressing it well, but it looks more appealing, more 'airy,' if you can put it that way... A must-have! Cijfer:

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a fantastic game. Therefore, it's logical that its sequel would be just as amazing, but unfortunately, this is not quite the case: where the first installment managed to set boundaries in terms of originality and extravagance, this game is just a bit too much of a good thing everywhere: there are too many power-ups, causing each power-up to only appear a few times in the game, and instead of a smaller number of levels with many missions, the decision was made to create as many worlds as possible. As a result, the experience of the game doesn't linger in your mind as long: you quickly go through all the worlds, without remembering what you've actually played.
Of course, this doesn't mean the game is bad: it remains a worthy successor to the first part, with great graphics, fine music, and indeed a lot of originality. How many hours have I spent playing Super Mario Galaxy? I think 100+? In Super Mario Galaxy 2, definitely double that! This game is so insanely good that it's my most played (Wii) game.
Everything about this game is perfect and fits together seamlessly. The game has a very long length. There are a total of 242 stars to collect, which is double the amount of SMG 1. The difficulty level is also higher in this fantastic sequel. Sometimes you spend 1 or even 2 hours on one mission! Despite its length, there is variety: in one galaxy, you swim in the sea on a tropical island, in another galaxy, you'd rather not get your feet wet in the hot lava.

In this gigantic adventure, there are also many new additions. The best new feature, in my opinion, is Yoshi, which allows for a new type of missions and therefore adds even more variety. Another addition (actually a change) is the game's hub. In SMG 1, there was the Comet Observatory, with different domes each containing many levels. Now there is the Mario Starship. This spaceship (in the shape of Mario's head XD) takes you to the familiar world map. This system works better because it takes less time to travel between worlds.
Apart from all this, the game features a fantastic soundtrack. The music is recorded live and it has turned out amazingly. Graphically, SMG 2 has reached the top on the Wii. The final big plus point of this gem is the improved multiplayer. In SMG 2, a second player can join in the form of the orange-colored Co-Star Luma. This character can hold and defeat enemies, collect Star Bits, push obstacles aside, and do many other useful things. You can also annoy your teammate, controlling Mario (or Luigi), by letting go of that rock at the last moment, crushing Mario.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the game for the Wii. Every Wii (U) owner must definitely get this and complete it entirely. You can be proud when you touch the 242nd star. I've done it and enjoyed every moment of it! Hide. Cijfer:

New worlds and playable Yoshi in Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is an incredibly fun game that closely resembles its predecessor, but with plenty of new additions. The gameplay feels familiar, but the many new worlds provide a fresh experience. What I really loved is that you can now ride Yoshi. This adds a whole new dimension to the game. Additionally, you can also play as Luigi, adding even more variety.
The game is an excellent space platformer where you travel to different planets. The graphics and music are even better than in the first game, truly elevating the gaming experience. For me, this is a must-have for every Nintendo Wii owner.
