Addictively fun game that you can't stop playing
I always play Super Mario Galaxy at my aunt's house, and once I start playing, I can't seem to put it down. I think it's a really beautiful game; it took me a while, but I've already completed it once. However, I enjoy it so much that I keep on playing. I even purposely stay over at my aunt's for Mario. You use the pointer controls to collect Star Bits and sometimes control Mario, and you shake the Wii Remote to perform Mario's new spin jump. This spin jump can come in handy for reaching otherwise unreachable places or defeating enemies.
Of course, there are also some new power-ups to be found. Mario can transform into a bee or ghost, providing unique gameplay. And of course, the Star and Fire Flower are back too! This keeps the levels feeling fresh!

Great game for the whole family with fantastic music
Great game for the whole family. It's a constant battle in our house over who gets to play on the WII. And when you finally get a turn, the "pop-ups" of how many stars you've collected keep popping up!
And then there's the sound. In one word: A-MA-ZING. Each environment has a perfectly fitting tune. (And much to my parents' annoyance) I often crank up the volume.

Super Mario Galaxy has 121 stars to collect divided into 6 different worlds. These stars can be found in galaxies, usually starting with 3 stars but later 6. Almost every galaxy has its own theme, giving you the real feeling of traveling through the universe. After collecting 120 stars, you have to replay the game but this time as Luigi. Once you complete that, you'll receive a bonus star. It's fun to unlock Luigi with 120 stars, but also a bit disappointing to hear that you have to replay the game to truly complete it 100%.
Gameplay
Most levels are designed as planets, meaning you can walk and jump around the planet. This is a lot of fun and Mario still feels great to control. One thing to note is that the dive move from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine is gone. This does make the controls slightly less precise, but what makes up for it is the spin move: by shaking the Wii controller, Mario spins with his arms. This can be used to stay in the air longer, jump farther, and defeat enemies. It feels really satisfying to use this move and is a great addition to the game.
Graphics
The graphics of Super Mario Galaxy are fantastic. It truly makes you feel like you are in space. Of course, there are games nowadays that look much better, but compared to other games from 2007, nothing comes close to this quality. Everything from the textures, models, and effects is beautiful. One of the best Wii games of all time, perhaps the best.
In this game, you go on an adventure as Mario in space to rescue Princess Peach. During your adventure, you will encounter new characters, such as Rosalina. There is something special about Super Mario Galaxy: you don't play in 2D, but in 3D!
You can play this game with one or two players, but it's more fun to play alone as the second player doesn't have much to do.
Furthermore, this game is incredibly well-made: the graphics are amazingly good for the Wii, and the music is very beautiful.

Possibly the best Wii game ever, lots of variety, never boring
Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best adventure games ever made for the Wii! This is probably also the reason why it was even released on the Nintendo Switch (albeit 13 years later!). This is not surprising because Super Mario Galaxy is actually one of the best Mario games ever and is in the same league as, for example, Super Mario 64, which was truly a golden game.
One moment you're swimming with penguins, the next moment you're defeating ghosts, and just when you think that's it, you suddenly come face to face with a dinosaur and so on. Because of this variety, you never have the feeling of "ugh, how boring, this again". The game remains fun due to the variety and provides hours of gameplay, you never really get tired of it.

Addictive gameplay and mysterious atmosphere
In Super Mario Galaxy, you travel from a spaceship to many planets to collect stars. These stars are needed to rescue Peach from Bowser. I found the mysterious atmosphere in the game incredibly addictive. Each level feels unique, and the bosses are challenging and fun to defeat.

Stunning Graphics and Upbeat Music in Grand Levels
When I played it for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the vast level I found myself in and wondered if I could reach everywhere. The stunning graphics were (and still are) amazing. The music is very upbeat, cheerful, beautiful, and fitting. The controls are sometimes a bit annoying, but often work well.
The game is occasionally a bit too easy, but some levels do provide a challenge (although you don't have to complete them). The game caters to both novice gamers, like parents, and advanced gamers.
There are a great number of stunning landscapes, levels, and planets. Playing with gravity is very enjoyable. The story is good and unlike other Super Mario games, such as 64 and Sunshine, it goes on for a long time, even until you've completed the game twice! Beautiful game with a colorful world
Super Mario Galaxy is a must-have for any Wii owner. This 3D Mario game is so incredibly extensive that it easily outshines the 2D platformers for me. Each of the worlds is extremely original, and there are quite a lot of them. Furthermore, in each Galaxy, you can collect more than 1 star, and as you progress, you unlock bonus challenges in these levels, ranging from 'quite doable' to 'really quite challenging.' The game looks fantastic, and the controls are very comfortable. One downside is the two-player option. It is indicated that it can be played together, but in reality, the other player controls a Luma collecting Starbits that can't even move independently but is bound to a cursor. This is quite unfortunate and could have been done differently, especially since Luigi is already in the game. However, as a single-player experience, this game is definitely worth a solid 10. This game is very unique. Peach's Castle is ripped off the earth by a UFO. Mario tries to rescue Peach, but gets knocked away by Kamek. Mario wakes up on a planet and that's where the tutorial begins. A fantastic intro if you ask me! The controls are also very smooth.
