Disappointing Characters and Terrible Controls
I'm telling you, I've been a fan of Soul Calibur for ages and it's in my top 3 best fighting games! This one... not really. In Soul Calibur 4, you could choose from STAR WARS CHARACTERS! And in this game, I don't even know who the characters are! Want a good game for Nintendo that's also cheap? Then click on the link at Soul Calibur 2 <---, my favorite Soul Calibur game because it features Link from The Legend of Zelda! Oh, and the controls of Soulcalibur Legends are terrible!

Worst Soul Calibur in the series...
Soulcalibur Legends for the Wii was my first introduction to the series. My initial impression of the game was decent. You can hack away with your sword (I didn't know back then that this series mainly uses swords). After playing the same levels countless times, I got bored and my hands got sore from playing.

Initially, I was expecting a gameplay similar to The Force Unleashed, but I was sorely disappointed. I did find the graphics quite nice, but that was really the only enjoyable aspect of the game. The storyline did manage to somewhat interest me, and I did finish the game.

Since then, I have been introduced to other parts of Soul Calibur at friends' places (including part 4 where you can play with Darth Vader, Starkiller, and Yoda). In comparison to the other Soul Calibur games I have played by now, I find the Wii version to be an example of how not to do it, and I'm glad I only borrowed the game.

It definitely wouldn't have been worth the money...

Monotonous Swinging with Wiimote and Nunchuck
The game starts on a sort of map where a few people begin to tell a whole story. Since I don't like to read, I skipped the story.
On the map, you see new villages where you can play. Once in the game, the goal is to swing like a maniac with your Wiimote and Nunchuck to take down the monsters. Sometimes you also have to move some statues to get through, but mostly you're swinging like crazy. After you've visited all the villages, you move on to the next level.
They just lack variety in the game. After 20 levels, I was still swinging my Wiimote and Nunchuck. Every time you've visited all the villages, the same levels can be replayed. Exactly the same, just with slightly tougher opponents.
I didn't continue further because it started to get quite boring, although I must mention that there is a multiplayer function. But even this isn't really interesting, and for those who think this is Soulcalibur Legends for the Wii. They are way off ;)

Poor Controls and Lack of Depth in Soulcalibur Legends
I was hoping that SoulCalibur Legends would be a fun game, well, it's not. The controls are very annoying, you just have to swing your Remote and Nunchuk like crazy. The game lacks depth, and the only upside is that it has multiplayer. Well, that multiplayer does have the same flaws in controls as the single player. Not recommended!

Good, better... abysmal
The Soulcalibur series has been known for years as a game series with enormous possibilities: it was one of the first series to introduce the "sidestep," its graphics and soundtracks have been fantastic since the first game, and each installment has a great story and characters.

Then came Soulcalibur Legends: a big pile of rubbish, in which none of the aforementioned highlights remain. The combat system is simply poor, both the graphics and soundtrack are severely disappointing, not to mention the story. Unlike the previous installments, there is unfortunately very little good to say about this game. And that is just... a shame for a series like Soulcalibur.
