Reviews Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing 15 reviews - average rating 8,0Not Comparable to Mariokart Many people claim that this game is a complete rip-off of Mariokart, but this game actually proves that it doesn't have to be a problem. Although the characters mainly come from older games and are less well-known, it also has a lot of positives: the graphics are just as good, the soundtrack may even be better, and the multiplayer mode is much more extensive than the "Mario version" of the game.
In recent years, I've seen a lot of subpar kart games, like Rayman Kart, Spongebob Squarepants Kart, M&M's Kart, Crash Nitro Kart, and Shrek Kart. I've also never heard anyone complain about the Smash Bros series, which is a direct descendant of Sonic The Fighters: so what's the problem with finally having a good kart competitor on the market again?Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Cijfer:

Recommended for Mario Fans Too A fun racing game from Sega, with enjoyable characters and vehicles.
The All-star moves are also very fun, it's a shame you can only get them when you're in last place. Good controls, you can also drift and earn Turbo that way. Drifting is quite easy, you can do it throughout the entire track (at least I can). The power-ups are also cleverly designed. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a real recommendation, even for all Mario Kart fans! Cijfer:
9,4The superior racer but not the best kart game, Mario Kart retains its position as the king of the genre Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing impresses with its very smooth controls for racing and sliding, leaving those of Mario Kart in the dust. The sense of speed is also better than in Mario Kart, but it's a shame that the level design is nowhere near as fun and interactive as in Mario Kart and that the balance (Shadow is too good!) is far from perfect.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is the superior racer, but Mario Kart is the superior kart game. Cijfer:

Hours of Entertainment Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is an amazing game! When I bought it, I played it all day long immediately. The best part of this game is that even after you've completed all the races, there are still a few left to bring to Triple A status. This keeps you busy with the game. There are also plenty of things to unlock, which keeps grabbing your attention to keep playing. In one word, an amazing game that you can play for hours. Cijfer:

Fun Racing Game with Limited Options Compared to Mario Kart Wii This is a fast, enjoyable game. You can choose from over 15 SEGA characters to race with, unfortunately each character has their own vehicle, so you don't have a lot of choices...
This game has fewer cups and features than Mario Kart Wii, the concept for a racing game also seems a bit borrowed from Nintendo. However, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is still a fun distraction! Cijfer:

The Sega Version of Mario Kart A nice game, but it feels like playing Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Sonic... You'll be racing with karts, the levels are colorful, red and green shields are red and green rockets... But it's also quite funny in multiplayer mode: power-ups flying all over the place, suddenly there are all kinds of spots on your screen, from first place you can be in last place in a matter of seconds. That's what makes the game cool. Playing alone, this game quickly gets boring, but with four people on the couch (splitscreen), you can play this all evening long. Cijfer:

Way Better than Mario Kart Wii When I bought this game, I thought it would be a cheap Mario Kart Wii rip-off. But to my surprise, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing turned out to be much better than Mario Kart in almost every aspect, and it really doesn't lack anything. The graphics are of very high quality and the music is also very good. There are a ton of characters from various Sega games and there are missions that are really fun to complete.
Additionally, there are many more multiplayer modes, making it fun to play with your friends. We had a lot of fun at home with the different options. You can unlock characters and maps by driving a lot and earning Sega Miles, which provides extra motivation to keep playing.
In the end, Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing was a super fun game for the Nintendo Wii. I definitely recommend buying it, because it's truly a great game. It has been a fantastic experience for me, and I continue to play it with a lot of joy. Cijfer:

Karting, but unfortunately no Mario Kart! A fun racing game with only Sega characters. Still, I find the idea a bit stolen from Super Mario Kart. With its over 20 characters and 24 tracks, it's still an extensive game that can provide hours of entertainment.
However, I believe more could have been done with it. I'm disappointed that the vehicles are tied to specific characters and you can't race in different vehicles. The game feels a bit too simple; after practicing for about fifteen minutes and playing for a day, I had already unlocked most of the characters. I didn't even find the characters from games other than the Sonic series interesting enough to race with.
I don't think it's a bad game, but I believe a joint project between Nintendo and Sega would have been better. Where, similar to Super Smash Brothers Brawl, you could select characters from various games. A kind of Mario Kart Wii where you could also select Sega's main characters, such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Eggman, and Amy.Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Cijfer:
7,0Poor version of Mario Kart. This is more a game for true Sonic fans. If you're more of a Mario fan, you'd better off buying Mario Kart. Besides, I find Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing a poor imitation of Mario Kart. If you really want a quality game, you should actually buy Mario Kart. Cijfer:

A serious copycat of Mario Kart Wii!
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a very fun racing game with enjoyable characters! Unfortunately, it's heavily copied from Mario Kart Wii!
But the tracks in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing are nothing like those in Mario Kart Wii! Personally, I do think Mario Kart Wii is more enjoyable! Cijfer:

Less fun than expected! I find Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing less fun than expected. I like the tracks the most in the game. The less enjoyable aspects for me are that you only have one fixed kart per character. You also can't play battle courses on your own, which you can in Mario Kart Wii. The controls are very easy though. However, it does feel like a copycat of Mario Kart Wii. Overall, it's a fun game. But I would recommend Mario Kart Wii instead. Cijfer:
7,5Great game Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a great racing game. The graphics are good and the maps are very creative. There are plenty of characters to choose from and the controls are also very good. Just a fun racing game! Cijfer:

This game is, in one word, amazing. The tracks you race on are beautifully designed, and there are some really fun characters in the game with their own special moves! Personally, I don't like this game more than Mario Kart, but for true Sonic fans, this is a must-have!Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Cijfer:

Great racing game Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a good casual racing game that kinda resembles Mario Kart Wii.
The race tracks are beautifully designed. The challenges are fun to complete. It's also quite amusing that you can choose your own music. It's a shame though that the controls are a bit sluggish.
I rate Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing an 8.2. If you're a fan of casual racing games, this might just be up your alley. Cijfer:
