Just shy of being a Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter Tri was an original game where you, as a prehistoric hunter, faced increasingly larger and more dangerous creatures in the struggle for survival.

Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure adopts that concept but takes it a step further: in a prehistoric underwater world, you try to survive as one of the many animal/dino species. Unfortunately, this causes it to be a lot less engaging; while it's pretty cool to play as one of these creatures, the game quickly becomes boring, prompting you to look for a game with more variety after just a few hours.

If the game had offered more variety, it probably could have been just as successful as the Monster Hunter series. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and due to its monotony, it remains stuck in the middle ground of acceptable games.
