This is a very nice and realistic game, for example, Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo look very real, and that is a big plus. Furthermore, all the actions you perform look very realistic, they look real. And the way the goalkeepers dive is also very nice. How can I enhance my game with some handy tips?
1. Substitution: I feel like substituting tired players makes things go a bit smoother (running, etc.) and reduces the risk of players getting injured.
2. Tackling: Tackling a player from behind is asking for trouble (read: a red card), but otherwise, you can fairly effectively take the ball this way. Especially tackles from the front, executed well in advance, yield good results.
3. Formation: Play 4-3-3 for good field coverage. The advantage: wingers are often left unmarked. Send them deep in time! (manually or by giving a through ball) If you then let them run diagonally towards the goal, you often score.
4. Running: make your player run a good distance by giving them instructions with a running line. Additional benefit: they run automatically so you can see what your next move is and, for example, guide other players to the right positions. You can control multiple players this way.
5. Defending a corner: mark players by clicking on the attackers and have players at the edge of the penalty area cover the space in front of the goalkeeper by dragging them there. This way, you'll concede fewer headed goals.
6. Finding space: have players regularly move away from their marker. Particularly, wingers running deep works very well. Just be careful of offside.
7. Passing: play as many passes as possible and don't rely too much on "hitting it long". Long passes are less accurate. Additionally, these balls (especially against good teams) are often intercepted.
8. Chip shot/lob: when I approach the goal frontally and alone, I often use a chip shot. No fuss with buttons, just shake the Wii remote. Do this just before reaching the keeper. If the keeper comes out and runs around the penalty spot, you can score with a lob. Sprint towards the goal and make the same motion just before entering the penalty area. Personally, I find this one of the most beautiful ways to score. Timing is a matter of practice.
