The perfect game with beautiful Japanese myths and music Okami is the perfect game. Everything, and I mean everything, is perfect. The game takes place in Japan, a long, long time ago. The story, which consists of Japanese myths and legends, is beautiful and occasionally even funny. Okami is entirely cel-shaded, making everything look stunning. The music is beautiful Japanese music, it's as if an orchestra is right beside you. The music is sometimes calm and sometimes energetic. The game is also very easy to control and enjoyable with the Wii Remote. Additionally, the replay value is very high; once you've completed it, you unlock all sorts of extras that you can use in a new game. So, the game never gets boring. In short, the perfect game! 10Dear Zelda clone! Okami is without a doubt the best Zelda clone ever made and even surpasses many games in the Zelda series.
The music, graphics, story, atmosphere, and so on are all of an incredibly high level. Read more...
The only downsides are a somewhat low difficulty level and the fact that the painting doesn't always respond well.
Okami is often praised as one of the best games ever made, and rightfully so! Hide. Cijfer:
9,6A true hidden gem that excels in almost every aspect! Okami for the Wii is truly a masterpiece that blurs the boundaries between art and gameplay. In this beautiful game, you embody the goddess Amaterasu, who takes the form of a wolf. The unique aspect of Okami is the use of a magical brush, allowing you to literally paint to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. This artistic approach adds a whole new dimension to the traditional action-adventure genre.
Visually, Okami is breathtaking, perhaps the most beautiful game on the Wii. The graphic style is based on traditional Japanese ink paintings, resulting in a colorful and vibrant game world. The landscapes, characters, and even the enemies all exude a unique aesthetic. The Wii motion controls add an extra layer to the gameplay, making painting and executing special moves feel more intuitive. Read more...
The story of Okami is captivating and draws from Japanese mythology, where you must battle dark forces to save the world. The characters are well-developed and contribute to the depth of the story. The music, which perfectly complements the visual beauty, adds to the enchanting atmosphere of the game.
Overall, Okami on the Wii offers a unique and immersive experience that will not only appeal to gamers but also captivate art enthusiasts. It is an absolute must-play for anyone looking for an adventurous journey filled with beautiful art and engaging gameplay. Hide. Cijfer:
9,5 Read more reviews.A game full of surprises Okami is a game full of surprises: not only because it became so successful as the first "traditionally Japanese" game, but also because it is simply so good. The storylines are original, clear, AND engaging, the gameplay is intuitive and feels familiar. The calligraphy (drawing the symbols) is surprisingly well implemented in the game, which is a rare combination.
Moreover, there is a fair amount of humor present in the game, something that unfortunately is all too often omitted/forgotten in games of recent years. All in all, a beautiful game. Cijfer:

Painterly Masterpiece! On the Playstation 2, this game had already proven its worth, and Okami continues to paint its golden path to the Wii! According to many critics, the game has made a good transition, although the controls sometimes lag behind (especially in precision with painting).
For me, this didn't bother me much while playing through, and to be honest, I had more fun with it than on the PS2, mainly because the game shows more of its own value, including creativity and freedom in controls!
The graphics may not be on par with many top Wii games, but they are not far behind either, as the game was already a gem graphically, and with the Wii, you can even achieve a higher pixel ratio in 480p/i format! The music was already very inspiring and still is, especially when traversing vast landscapes, it greatly contributes to maintaining the adventurous factor.
If you don't have this game yet and you're particularly fond of adventure games like Zelda, then I highly recommend this game. In my opinion, it is one of the best games on the Wii that is somewhat overshadowed in its ranking, especially since it was already showcased on the PS2.
Don't be fooled by that because it feels and truly is an improved 'more complete' version of its predecessor. Cijfer:

Beautiful graphics and long-lasting fun comparable to Zelda Okami is a beautiful game created by Capcom, it's not just a visually stunning game but also enjoyable! It reminded me a lot of Zelda, especially the wolf part in Zelda: Twilight Princess. This game is a must-have, especially at the price it's currently being offered (20 euros). I've invested about 40 hours in the game and still haven't finished it! Cijfer:
10Okami: Wolf vs. Darkness weapon: brush Okami is original, cool, and epic.
I played Okami on the PS2 and rented it for the Wii a while ago because I was curious about the controls.
The controls are not very different from other Wii games so I'll skip that part. Read more...
In a nutshell, you are Amaterasu, a kind of wolf, and you have to save the land from darkness.
It has a bit of Zelda-like gameplay with puzzles, etc., but what you'll use the most is your brush to fight and explore the many different areas.
Once you've finished it, there's still plenty to discover because all your powers and such carry over to the new game, so plenty of replay value. BUY IT NOW :D Hide. Cijfer:
8,5Amazing adventure, great concept, a must-have! I never thought there would be a game on the Wii that could rival Zelda, and suddenly, out of nowhere, Okami appeared. Although it will never match my favorite series, I had an absolute blast with this game every minute! For every Wii owner, this is a true must-have, and all for a small price, as this game is undeservedly found in the bargain bins! Cijfer:

Beautiful graphics and magical gameplay in Okami Okami is a stunning game that I can truly recommend! You play as a wolf named Amaterasu, who is actually a sun goddess. The goal is to save the world from darkness by defeating enemies and restoring nature. For me, it was truly a unique experience to run through beautiful landscapes as a divine being.
The graphics are very special, as if you are playing in a painting. The visual style created a gripping and simultaneously fascinating atmosphere for me. You use a magical brush to solve puzzles and perform attacks. The brush system feels very original and adds a fun twist to the game.
The story is exciting and there are many secrets to discover. The music is beautiful and fits the atmosphere well, enhancing the adventurous feeling. Okami on the Nintendo Wii is a fantastic game full of adventure and magic. To me, it is one of the most unique games I have ever played! Cijfer:

All those dungeons are even more beautiful and exciting than before. The game just keeps getting better as you progress. Another 10 to add to the collection. Cijfer:

The Secret of the Wii Okami is a well-kept "secret" for the Wii. Perhaps not many copies have been sold, but it is one of the best games you can own. The picturesque graphics are stunning, and the music is so beautiful. In short, Okami is simply a real gem! Cijfer:

Beautiful game but a shame about the motion controls Okami is a beautiful and unique game set in a Japanese mythological world. The game is known for its stunning graphical style resembling traditional Japanese watercolor paintings and the gameplay centered around utilizing various powers of the goddess Amaterasu to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
However, I must say that the Wii controls of Okami are not always as smooth. The game utilizes motion controls to perform certain actions, such as drawing symbols to activate powers. Sometimes the controls don't respond well, which can lead to frustration and a disruption of the game's immersion.
Despite this minor drawback, Okami remains a beautiful game that is worth playing. Cijfer:

Indescribable Okami is an amazing game.
Fantastic graphics, smooth controls, incredible story.
Let's talk about the downsides..... uhm......the drawing doesn't always respond well... nope, can't think of anything else. A must-have ten times over. Cijfer:

A must-have for the Wii Okami is a really great game. Not only does it look beautiful and have stunning music, but the story is also interesting, and it's just a fun game to play. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is still my favorite Wii game, but Okami rightfully takes second place. Definitely give it a try! Cijfer:

During the festival in Kamiki Village, Mr. Bamboo, Karude, and the Nameless Man are enjoying sake. By using Watersprout, you can bring the sake from the crate to them to get them drunk. They will then have funny conversations.
After walking away for a bit and returning, they will have a hangover and apologize.
Using powerslash on the snow mounds in Kamui will create an ice sculpture of Ammy, Issun, or Sakuya.
Drawing Bloom around people will make them run to Ammy and pet her. But if you are too far away, they will give up and become sad.
Using Watersprout or Power Slash on the fuse of a Cherry Bomb will extinguish the fuse, allowing you to roll and play with the bomb.
You can create shooting stars by drawing dots in the sky, unfortunately, you cannot make a wish. Personal tip: How can you quickly collect Demon Fangs? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
If you want to buy some of the strongest items in the game, you'll need a bunch of Demon Fangs. Here are some tips to get them quickly.
-Finishing Moves: When you defeat an enemy, they will fall in slow motion for a moment. If you use a special brush technique on them during this slow-motion fall (Power Slash for imps, Bloom for bud ogres), they will leave behind a Demon Fang.
-Well-timed counter: If you have a Reflector Instrument set as your secondary weapon, you can counter enemy attacks. If you time this perfectly, you'll receive a Demon Fang.
-Golden Fury: Use the Golden Fury attack on your enemies, and they will drop a Demon Fang. Okami Personal tip: How can you easily raid Mushi's Mama's garden in Kamiki Village? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
In one of the sidequests in Kamiki Village, you have to plunder the garden of Mushi's mother, aptly named Mushi's Mama. This can be quite tricky, as every time you dig up one of her plants, she comes running after you. However, you can also paint her with the Celestial Brush. She will then turn completely black for a short time and won't be able to see anything. If you then dig up her vegetables, she won't notice a thing. Just remember to paint her again when the effect wears off, or she will still come after you. If this happens, you can also paint her, and that will temporarily stop her. Personal tip: How can I get Baked Oranges and Cherry Cakes in Kamiki Village? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
If you visit the house of Mr. and Mrs. Orange in Kamiki Village at night and talk to both of these people, Mr. Orange will give you some Baked Oranges, and Mrs. Orange will give you some Cherry Cakes. This food quickly fills up the Astral Pouch and gives you more Yen than other food. (To get the Cherry Cakes, you first need to help Mrs. Orange with her laundry during the day.) Personal tip: Why wouldn't you buy a Fleetfoot in the Dojo of Okami? Frank Wildenburg | | 392 | | 16 jaar |
In the Dojo of Okami, you can buy Fleetfoot, which allows you to dodge enemies. Don't bother! It responds very poorly, and you might as well just jump out of the way. Easter Eggs and Glitches: What are some references to Japanese mythology in Okami? Frank Wildenburg | | 392 |
In Okami, there are a ton of references to Japanese mythology. For example, Orochi was the Japanese god of the underworld, the story of the fisherman in Ryoshima Coast is the Japanese version of Rip Van Winkle, and Susano-o was the Japanese god of storms. You can find a lot more on Wikipedia. Secrets: How can I attack my enemies by urinating on them? If you buy the "Golden Fury" attack from the sensei in Shinshu Field, you can... pee on your enemies. As an attack. The attack does cost 100,000 Yen, but if you have a childish sense of humor like mine, this is more than worth it. And then there's also an attack called "Brown Rage" that lets you leave behind exploding poops... You can get this in Ryoshima Coast. Personal tip: Why do you receive Yen for food in Okami? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
You probably already know that you can fill your Astral Pouch by collecting food, but this food serves another purpose as well. You might not have noticed this, also because it's never explained in the game, but for all the food you collect, you also immediately receive a few Yen, so keep your eyes open for food even when your Astral Pouch is full. Personal tip: How can you easily defeat the red Imps in Okami? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
The red Imps, the enemies with the lute, can be tough to defeat because at some point they will use their lute as a shield. However, you can destroy this lute by cutting it lengthwise with your Celestial Brush. After this, they are just as easy to defeat as regular green Imps in Okami. Personal tip: How can I remember what I had to do in Okami? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
If you've forgotten what you needed to do, you can go to the "Log Book" in the Okami menu, and then to "Journey". Here you can reread all the tasks people have given you. Easter Eggs and Glitches: Why is Hayabusa, Mushi's dog in Kamiki Village, named after Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden? Hayabusa, Mushi's dog in Kamiki Village, is named after Ryu Hayabusa, the main character in Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden games in Okami. Personal tip: Why is feeding animals important for obtaining Praise in Okami? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
In Okami, you have the option to feed animals. This may seem pointless, but I would still recommend doing it, because every time you feed an animal, you will receive a certain amount of Praise, which you can then use to upgrade Amaterasu. Each group of animals can only be fed once. Note: the dog Hayabusa in Kamiki Village also counts as a group of animals. Personal tip: How can I dig up clovers in Okami on the Wii? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
If you see a green light shining in a specific spot on the ground, make sure to dig at that spot using the C button. A clover will sprout from the ground. By making this clover bloom using the Brush Technique "Bloom," you will receive a certain amount of Praise. You can use this to upgrade Amaterasu in Okami. Personal tip: How can I escape from a fight in Okami? Bramd de Groot | | 25454 | | 16 jaar |
When you encounter an enemy that looks like an old Japanese scroll (you can find these in Shinsu Field, for example), you will end up in a battle with multiple Imps. Somewhere in the power field surrounding the battle, you will, however, be able to see a round, glowing portal. If you hit this portal several times, you can pass through it and escape the battle in Okami. Secrets: Where can I find the locations of the travel guides in Okami?
