To get infinite lives, follow these steps:
Go to the ship in World 8 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, head to the cannons and keep going until you reach the 2nd set of grey mini blocks.
Shake the Wii Remote and jump on each bullet. You'll first see the points: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, and each bullet you jump on after that is worth 1 life.

Here's a really good 1-UP glitch to try in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. What's a 1-UP glitch? It's a trick to get extra lives by exploiting a mistake in a game. Definitely give it a go yourself to never get a Game Over again!

 

To defeat Bowser, the final boss in the last level of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you're best off doing the following:
- Play with 2 players
- 1 player has the ability to fly
- 1 player has the ability to shoot (ice blocks)
Keep shooting at the final boss while swiftly moving out of harm's way.
Don't have the ability to fly/shoot...? Make sure you've touched the flag at the beginning, and purchase the abilities to fly/shoot by pressing button 1 before you restart.

In world 6-6, there is a secret pipe that leads to the secret exit in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Now you can use the cannon to reach world 8.

Lift your partner and let them land on the boss's head, this way you won't get hit by Bowser's rolling and can quickly stomp on his head.

Die eight times in a level and you'll unlock the option to put Mario on autopilot: the so-called Super Guide mode. There are many gears turning in the first castle of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

There, you can jump on a question mark. Once you've done that, bars with texts will appear, such as Secret Goal. If you click on that bar, you'll need to pay star coins first, but that's no big deal, because then you can watch a video of a professional player. You'll see secret passages or where a star coin is located!

When you enter a Toad House, you'll have to flip over the different panels and match two of the same kind. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that there are a few fixed patterns. If you're in a red Mushroom House and playing with two or more players, you can steal each other's turn by hitting each other with a ground pound (jumping and then pressing down) in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

The enemies are Goombas, and you can easily defeat them when you are playing with a partner. You both need to ground pound at the same time. If you manage to defeat 8 of those Goombas, you'll even get an extra life!

The end credits of New Super Mario Bros. Wii are a mini-game. During the credits, you can actually destroy the letters by performing ground pounds or hitting them from below.

With 2 players, you'll even have a competition to see who can collect the most coins in this mini-game.

If you have a Star Coin that is located in a very high place, why not invite your friends over? By jumping on each other's heads, you can reach great heights. Start by jumping on your friend's head. Then, when they soar up high, jump again so they bounce on you in the air for an extra boost! This way, you can reach twice the height as usual in New Super Mario Bros. Wii!

If you encounter a moving flower in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you can shake your Wii remote. This will make a coin appear.

If you can't collect certain coins or cannons, go all the way to the left in the castle of New Super Mario Bros. Wii in the first world. Make sure you have the easy coins and you can buy videos, such as the special pipe in world 2 or the cannon in world 2. Unfortunately, you can't see how to get all the cannons and coins. Do you ever have those moments when you're on a roll in your game and you spot another goomba you have to defeat? Make sure you have a star and activate it. When you bump into the goomba or anything else, it will disappear from the map.

Imagine you've used a good item and enter a level, but then you get hit by a goomba, causing you to 'shrink'.
If you press start and go back to the world map of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you will have your item back. This way, you can retry that level with the same item without needing to use a new one.

If you've completed New Super Mario Bros ALL the way, you'll have infinite item houses, life houses, and star houses.

You can swallow a fireball with Yoshi in 3 ways by pressing the 1-button:
1. Eat a fire-spitting Piranha Plant.
2. Eat a fireball from a fire-spitting Piranha Plant.
3. Eat a fireball that Fire Mario can shoot.

When you swallow a fireball with Yoshi and then spit it out, the fireball floats away in the direction Yoshi is facing. You can defeat your enemies by spitting a fireball at them. The fireball will keep going in that direction for the entire level, even if it has already killed someone. It's very useful to keep following your fireball. This way, you won't get hit by any enemies. Just be careful not to walk into your own fireball, as it will disappear if you do.

You probably already know that Mario loses his cap when he has 99 lives. But do the Toads lose their mushroom heads and Luigi also lose his cap when they have 99 lives? Unfortunately, no. So, there's no need to try it out.

When you have collected 99 lives, Mario loses his cap in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Mario will play without his cap until you die once and have 98 lives again.

Head to world 1, play with 4 players, and keep bumping into that goomba. Then, all at once, perform a Ground Pound (jump and then do a somersault, and... BAM) to quickly defeat all the goombas. Grab all the balloons, then Toad will emerge from a box and give you 3 Super Mushrooms. (That ground pound is super powerful, strong enough to defeat bosses)

In World 1 level 1 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you can collect 100 coins each time, which will earn you an extra life. You can also unlock a 1-Up house every time.

In level 1-3 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, there is a secret passage. You need Yoshi to access it. If you progress far without entering a pipe, you will reach a point where there is ground above Mario's head. Try to reach that point and walk to the end. Then enter a pipe to reach the finish of the secret passage.

If you want to save Toad in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you need to pay attention! Because all your power-ups that you can activate while using them (like the Fly-Mushroom) won't work when you're carrying Toad! And you also can't slide down a little hill! (That's why I died a lot...) So, WATCH OUT!

If you want to defeat Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you need to practice a lot and try to master the technique. But the most important thing is to know the course roughly. The fastest way is to use the cannons in worlds 1 and 5:

The cannon in world one takes you to World 5, and the cannon in world 5 takes you to world 8.
Once in world 8, head to 8-2, where you'll find a secret path to 8-7. This path is easy to spot; just play through the level and keep an eye out for a wall you can pass through.
World 8-7 is a rollercoaster level! Completing this level will take you to the ship level of world 8, and from there, you can reach the final boss.

Play with 4 players in level 1-3 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, everyone grab a Yoshi, except for Luigi. Toss Luigi around, give him everything, and don't let Luigi do anything himself.

This way you can test your skills and collect 3 mushrooms at a time + earn 1-ups.

If you want to grab that tricky coin in the ice cave of New Super Mario Bros. Wii by throwing a barrel and it fails, just go back. There's a new barrel ready for another attempt. Saves you from walking around again.

The coin in the cave in level 3-2 is not easy to grab.
The best and quickest way is as follows:
1. Go back to level 1-1 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and get a propeller suit (and complete the level).
2. Return to level 3-2 and make sure you safely enter the cave through the pipe where you see those bullit bills flying back and forth.
3. As soon as it's quiet and your position is centered, jump and then shake yourself straight up before the cannons start firing again.
With some good timing, you'll successfully grab it.

When you reach new worlds in New Super Mario Bros., you might encounter Ghost Houses. There are ghosts that come towards you, trying to catch you. But if you face them, they kind of "hide" themselves. When you turn around, they sneak up on you. So if you're having trouble getting past such a ghost, stand a bit further away, turn around, and then it will come towards you. Then turn back around, jump over it, and you can continue!

You need at least 2 players for this glitch. In world 1-1 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, go to the flag and press the A button at the exact moment you touch the flag. If done correctly, Mario should now be invisible. The game will freeze, so you'll need to reset your Wii afterwards.

In the first level of Coin Battle in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, head to the end of the level and jump on the two Koopa Troopas to gain enough height to ground pound on top of the flag. If done correctly, Mario will destroy the blocks he's running on and will keep running indefinitely without moving forward. This will cause your game to freeze, so you'll need to reset your Wii.

When you reach level 4.7 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you should jump against the two walls just after the second star. Once you're up, you'll land on a platform with lots of coins.

When playing world 4-castle and you come across a section with a gate where a Koopa Troopa is located, and you are playing the level with Ice Mario, head over to that gate with the Koopa Troopa, freeze the Koopa Troopa in ice, and then quickly flip the gate! If you manage to do this just as the Koopa Troopa is about to land on the ground, you will see that the Koopa Troopa remains frozen on the ground without breaking. If you succeed, you will notice that a bunch of coins come out of that ice block, and for the remaining time you have, JACKPOT, you will receive a ton of coins, many extra lives, and an additional 3 million points added to your score for playing the level just once! This way, you can more easily reach the maximum score! Unfortunately, I don't have a video to show you... :(
