Great for when you're young, but if you're a bit older, you might want to pass on this game.
My nephew played this game, he's 7 and absolutely loved it. Personally, I didn't enjoy it at all, but the game is rated 3+ and seems to be designed for young children. Overall, if I have to judge everything about the game: The graphics aren't bad, it's 2D and the tracks are a bit dull. Mini Desktop Racing isn't a bad game, but it's not aimed at older kids.

Great for the little ones
Mini Desktop Racing is fun if you're very young, but for older children, it's quite boring.

Very mediocre racing game
Well, I can't say anything else about it. This racing game is not very good. The controls are weird and don't work well because, let's be honest, have you ever come across a racing game where you hold the Wii remote vertically?

The idea of having races on top of a desk is indeed very original. But the execution is lacking.

Mini Desktop Racing gets a 5.0 from me. There are better racing games out there, just look at Mario Kart Wii.

Product Description

Mini Desktop Racing is a Fantastic and super fun racing game for the Nintendo Wii! In this game, you race with miniature cars over everyday objects and obstacles found on a desk, such as pens, books, and coffee mugs. The gameplay is fast and hectic, allowing you to use power-ups and tricks to defeat your opponents. Developed by Data Design Interactive, the game offers both single-player and multiplayer modes, so you can race against your friends and family!

Historical Context

Mini Desktop Racing was released in 2007, a time when racing games were hugely popular on the Nintendo Wii. This game stood out for its unique setting and humorous approach, where you don't race on traditional tracks but on a desk full of obstacles. Although the game didn't make a big impact on the industry, it did find a niche among fans of casual and party games.

Expert Reviews

IGN wrote about Mini Desktop Racing: "The concept is fun and quirky, but unfortunately, the execution leaves a lot to be desired." GameSpot added: "While the game has a charming premise, it is held back by poor controls and lackluster graphics." Oopsie, that doesn't sound so good, does it?

Mr. M's Adventure

Do you know what I would do if I were in Mini Desktop Racing? I would build my own mini race track on a giant desk with my best friends Yoshi and Luma! We would race over staples, pens, and even stacks of paper. Fantastic, right? And after we finish racing, we would throw a big party with cake and lemonade. Haha! What an adventure that would be!
