Real steering with the Wii Wheel and fun for the whole family Mario Kart Wii has always been a top title. On the Wii even more so because you can "really" steer with the Wii Wheel. There are many different tracks and there are always opponents online as well.
The fact that it's fun for the whole family is an added bonus. With the many items you can use to annoy other racers, even less experienced drivers can win. That's also the reason why I don't give it a 10: it's very frustrating to be leading the race all along and then to have a whole bunch of items thrown at you.

Great new controls and fun motorcycles! When Mario Kart Wii was released, it was a real craze. Nowhere could you find them on the shelves! Understandably, because it's a fan-tas-tic game. The new controls are superb. Also, the old traditional items are back, with which you can really sling at each other. What's also fun is that this time you can Battle on your own. And the motorcycles, you can do wheelies with them! That's a laugh!! You can unlock lots of things and then there's also the multiplayer and the Wi-Fi. Lots of new items and characters in Mario Kart Wii Mario Kart Wii is an awesome game. Loads of new tracks, more items and characters, and the ability to ride motorcycles. It did take some getting used to playing with just one player after Double Dash.
Also cool is the Wii Wheel, it's very different from using a controller. It does take some getting used to (of course), but once you get the hang of it, it's more fun than the controller! Another fun feature is the Wi-Fi mode, where you can race with multiple people from all over the globe.
It's also great that you can participate in a tournament in the countries of your choice, no longer limited to just 4 standard ones. The items are also fun: I had a blast with the mega mushroom, the blooper, and the thundercloud. When you're dead last and see no way out, the Bullet Bill can be a lifesaver. The infamous blue shell is back in action, along with the whole list of standard items.
The battle stages are back too: The mega stadium is fantastic!

Racing with the Wii Wheel makes Mario Kart Wii super cool! Before I knew about Mario Kart Wii, I didn't think it would be a fun game. But after playing it, my opinion completely changed! I spent an afternoon playing the game at a friend's place, and a week later, I got my own copy!
At first, I wasn't sure if it would be my kind of game because I didn't really enjoy Mario Kart Double Dash (GameCube). However, I find Mario Kart Wii to be really awesome! This is mainly because I prefer racing with the Wii Wheel rather than a controller.
In short, I think this game is worth the 40 euros! I also agree that Mario Kart Wii is ranked No. 1 on the list of the most popular games on MarioWii.nl! I hope that this review has been helpful to you too.

At first, I thought the Wii Wheel was just a cheap little thing, but it actually makes Mario Kart a lot more enjoyable. Like in most games, multiplayer is really the most fun!
But I feel sorry for the people who don't have Super Mario Galaxy (can't imagine it ;)) because they probably can't unlock Rosalina... In short: a good game!

Realistic experience with the Wii steering wheel When I saw that the game was in production, I was immediately on my guard, I loved the previous one so much that I had to have this one!
When it was released, I wanted to go to the store right away, but I couldn't because of a troublesome mother :-(. When I was finally allowed 2 days later, it was already sold out, so I called everywhere. But yeah, no one had it. Eventually, it did end up in good hands.

Awesome! Mario Kart Wii is definitely a blast. The motion controls really make this a superb experience. The most fun is to play with the Wii Wheel, but it's also enjoyable without it. In Mario Kart Wii, you race with 12 people on all sorts of fun race tracks. But just like in every Mario Kart, there are also items such as the famous blue shell and the Bullet Bill. There are different modes as well. You have Grand Prix where you can win cups and unlock karts/players. Then there's Time Trials, where you can try to break the world record on the 32 race tracks. There's also VS mode. In this mode, you can choose tracks yourself, so it doesn't matter which cup you play. This mode is especially fun when you're with friends. Then there's the Battle mode. The goal is to steal each other's balloons/coins in a large play area. The game is super fun whether you're playing alone or with friends, one of the better games on the Nintendo Wii.

Mario Kart Wii is a must-have! Mario Kart Wii is truly a must-have with 16 new tracks and 16 retro tracks. In my opinion, the Donkey Kong Mountain from Mario Kart Double Dash is the most fun. With 24 characters, there's almost always a character for everyone, not to mention the battle tracks from previous games making a return along with 6 new battle courses. Playing with the nunchuck and Wii Pro Controller is enjoyable. The best things about Mario Kart Wii are the characters, tracks, battle courses, bikes, wheels, and the ability to perform many tricks. Funky Kong with the Bowser Bike (Flame Runner) and Daisy with the Mach Bike are buffed, adding more fun to playing with those characters.

Fun race tracks and classic maps Mario Kart Wii is truly a fantastic game for me. The race tracks are incredibly fun and varied. Maple Treeway and DK Snowboard Cross are absolute favorites of mine. Additionally, it's great that many maps from previous Mario Kart games have been added, which evokes a nostalgic feeling.
The characters are well-designed, and it's a nice addition that there are now baby versions of well-known characters. I found the Grand Prix very entertaining, and completing the game 100% gave me a lot of satisfaction. The game remains exciting and challenging, even after playing it many times. My friends and I have had countless hours of fun with this.

A great game with mediocre controls While I hear many people around me talking about how fantastic Mario Kart Wii is, and I can certainly partly agree with that, there is one thing that bothers me: the controls. Because how frustrating they can be. You can turn your controller as enthusiastically as you want, but the game often has a mind of its own, making it sometimes difficult to stay on the track, especially in harder stages like Rainbow Road and Wario's Gold Mine. Compared to the Gamecube controls of Mario Kart: Double Dash, the game has, in my opinion, taken a step back. However, the game does offer a lot of content, and the added (and returning) tracks are very beautiful and often have interesting shortcuts. There are also some fun new characters added to make the roster more appealing, but there is something to be said about that too. They have included four baby characters (like Baby Daisy), but for example, they left out Piranha Plant from the previous game; a bit of a missed opportunity. The same goes for some stages from the previous game. They take over some mediocre stages while leaving out the most enjoyable maps.

One of the best racing games ever made and definitely worth the money Mario Kart Wii is my personal favorite Mario Kart.
There are countless possible karts, but the bikes in this game are definitely a lot better. There are 2 types of bikes, the inside-drift bike and the outside-drift bike, with the inside-drift bike clearly being a lot better and faster. You can make tighter turns with the inside-drift bike and your km/h is also faster compared to the outside-drift bikes. Nintendo canceled the servers in 2014, but thanks to a few diehard Mario Kart Wii fans, there are now custom servers called Wiimmfi. These servers are free and completely safe. Personally, I play using CTGP: a mod that allows you to play online right away (via Wiimmfi) along with 216 fan-made tracks and there are also new game modes, such as Item Rain (all items falling like rain from the sky) and 200cc. This way of playing is the safest and completely free (although you need an SD card to download CTGP).

If you want to become a Mario Kart Wii expert, I recommend choosing Daisy + Mach Bike or Funky Kong + Bowser Bike. Why? These characters have a speed bonus, so they go faster than other characters, and with the Bowser Bike or Mach Bike, you can perform good drifts with a high mini-turbo and your speed is also very high.
If you really struggle with bikes, you can practice. If you still can't get the hang of it, you can choose the Flame Flyer or the Wild Wing (best karts). And if you prefer lightweight characters, there isn't one that's the best, except for Toadette and Magikruiser because of the off-road bonus.

Are you also fed up with those enemies constantly catching up with you? I'll give you some tips (shortcuts) to outsmart them.
1. Shortcut Dry Dry Ruins: Just before the finish line, veer off to the right from that ruin. After that, there's a speed jump. Go over that speed jump and jump to the right. There's a hidden sandy path there, but it won't slow you down!
2. Mushroom George walkthrough: Right at the beginning of Mushroom George, go left and use a mushroom. You'll reach a mushroom platform. Jump from this platform to the higher mushrooms and get back on track.
3. Grumble Volcano ultra shortcut: Right after the start, drive into the lava on the other side, and you'll rejoin the track shortly. Brake just before the stunt and steer your car to the left. Use a boost or a mushroom, and you'll end up on a new track.
4. Coconut Mall shortcut: There's a shortcut right at the beginning here. As you go down the stairs, turn right. Find the last shop, go inside, and you'll be shot out!
5. Delfino Squid: There's a bend that completely reverses to the right. When you reach the bridge, you'll see some crates placed before that turn. Go behind those crates to the right and use a mushroom. That's how you outsmart them ;)
6. DK Snowboard Cross: At some point, you'll encounter bumps with a sharp right turn. Just go right here and you'll cut off a big part of the turn! (This shortcut also works at DK's Mountain.)

At Grumble Volcano, there's a shortcut that's actually a glitch, but it really works. By taking this shortcut, you'll definitely finish the race within a minute (if you do it right). You can't take the shortcut at the beginning of an online race. That's because you don't have any items yet. The shortcut is very difficult though.

In the Coconut Mall track of Mario Kart Wii, there are a lot of escalators. Twice you have to go up using these escalators. You can choose between two escalators. One goes up and the other goes down. Of course, you want to take the escalator going up, but each lap the escalators switch directions! In the first lap, take the right one and then the left one. In the next lap, do it the other way around. In the third lap, it's like the first lap; right, left. If you lose track, look for a strange green creature dancing between the escalators. If it looks to the left, take the left escalator, and vice versa. If you happen to take the wrong escalator, you can perform a stunt over the railing by lifting your steering wheel up when you're in the air. This will give you an extra boost. It's also useful even if you take the correct escalator.

If you both want to play as the same character in multiplayer, you can do the following: Player 1 selects the character, then presses cancel, moves away from the selection box, and lets player 2 (and 3 and 4) do the same. Then, player 1 presses Back all the way back to the character selection screen. Player 1 then selects the same character again, and voilĂ , you have all selected the same character! To use this tip, you don't need anything special; just drive over it! Right before the Finish line (and if you watch the "intro video" of this Circuit all the way through, you'll see them too), you'll spot two speed strips. But to be clear: there's a countdown: 3, 2-!, 1, GO! When you see the -!, hit the gas; this will give you a quick start. Take the fast inside route, (if you're not familiar with it, check out a message from someone else) go through the giant cannon, race as usual towards the mega caterpillars, (make sure to dodge those two!) until you reach the springy net. Perform one or two (if you can manage three!) tricks on it, "prepare" to the left and head upwards! Zoom, you'll perform a trick through the air!! And just like that, you'll be done and dusted with a solid lead!

Hitting a Bob-omb is no easy feat. Dropping it behind you isn't very smart either, especially when it explodes quickly. Holding onto a bomb by pressing B is even riskier. In team play, a bomb can be quite useful in Mario Kart Wii. If your own bomb explodes, you won't get hit by it! So, you can just keep B pressed to use the bomb as a shield. Or drop it behind you.
