Not bad, but could be better!
If you've seen the movie, you just want James Cameron's Avatar: The Game! I actually thought it was not a great game, with mediocre gameplay, but it's not! The graphics are not bad, but could be better. Furthermore, the story isn't really good, just like the controls are poor. That can be quite annoying at times! But despite everything, still a fun game!

Beautiful game but poor controls and short gameplay
After watching the movie, I just had to buy this game. I had no idea if it was a good game. It was actually not bad, I was expecting a low-budget game with ugly graphics and all that. James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is indeed a beautiful game. However, the controls are not really well developed. When flying with a banshee, it's not controllable with the nunchuk... it really doesn't work well. Also, the game is not very long (+-8 hours) and has little to no replay value. Nonetheless, a fun and beautiful game!

Beautiful graphics and smooth gameplay, but weak storyline
James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is a decent game. The graphics are quite beautiful, well-developed environments, and the game plays smoothly. However, the storyline is truly sad. The game is set before the events of the movie, and the story seems hastily put together. The controls work quite well, but flying takes some getting used to. So, if you want more of Avatar after the movie, then buy this game. If you're not a fan of the movie, then this is just an average action game.

Avatar, an action/adventure game for the Wii IN CO-OP
The first thing that stands out is that the game (just like the movie) looks very nice. Of course, not as stunning as on the screen, but for a Wii game, it's impressive. I thought it was cool to jump onto a Marine from a high tree trunk, then swing your remote in a direction and sneak back up. Read more: Go to my review!!

A mediocre game based on a fantastic movie.
Avatar is an amazing movie, that's for sure. But James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is a different story. The controls are not very remarkable and the story of the movie is not followed at all. You're just a Na'vi who doesn't really play a big role. The levels mostly just go straight ahead and the game doesn't last very long either...

Really cool, you know!
James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is quite fun if you've seen the movie; then you'll want the game too.
I just think it's a bit of a shame that the main character doesn't appear in the game.
And I find the controls a bit poor.
But what's cool is that you have to fight against guys and stuff, and that you're really in such a jungle.
But I do think it's a really fun game, you know!

Pretty fun, could be better
Avatar is a pretty fun game, you have to smash machines, shoot people with your bow and arrow, and sometimes even fly! That's all very enjoyable, but sometimes you get stuck for a month, so it's very challenging. It's also a shame that the game has a different story than the (very enjoyable) movie.

Sneak and jump and fly through all of Pandora!
In James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, you have to swing, sneak, fight, and progress.
You even have to fly on a bird sometimes!!
The fun part of the game is that you can always call on your friend - brother - sister - father - mother - grandfather and grandmother when you get stuck.
Replay levels and upgrade your bow and arrow, staff, skills, ETC.

Really a fun game. Especially the sneaking, fighting, and playing together is very enjoyable.
It's a new story and in Dutch, which is so nice. In James Cameron's Avatar: The Game.

First the movie
You should watch the movie Avatar first and then play James Cameron's Avatar The Game. It's highly recommended, but you need to have seen the movie otherwise the story isn't as easy to grasp.

Good points, but also some downsides
James Cameron's Avatar: The Game perfectly showcases the many possibilities of Nintendo Wii. Besides the game being visually stunning, just like the movie was back then and still is, as the graphics are very good even to this day. However, the gameplay is good but not quite up to par with the graphics of the game and what you would expect from it. Quite coincidentally, as that ratio was also off in the film itself. The controls can also be a bit vague with the Wii Remote, and the Xbox 360 version is much better due to the Xbox controller.
Overall, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is a decent Wii game, 6.5.
