Geometry Wars: Galaxies is a unique and highly addictive game

You are a small spaceship constantly under attack by enemies. Your goal? Survive for as long as possible and shoot down as many enemies as you can. Luckily, in this installment, you are also assisted by the new drone, which can have various functions, depending on your choice at the start of a level. This drone becomes stronger over time, making it increasingly useful.

Tips and secrets, cheats and codes

4 tips: 3 Personal tips - 1 Secret

Secrets:
How do you get an extra life in Geometry Wars: Galaxies?
Grotehaas
15280
For every 5000 Geoms you collect in Geometry Wars: Galaxies, you'll receive an extra life.
For every 7500 Geoms you collect, you'll get an extra bomb.
(except in levels where you start with 1 life)

Personal tip:
Which types of Drones are available in the game and how can they assist you?

You start off with the Drone "attack" by default, and the rest you have to buy with Geoms. They start at level 1 when you buy them and aren't very powerful or accurate. By playing with the Drone and (literally) sticking with it for a while, they can reach a maximum level of 10. That's when they perform at their best and can really help you out.

Here you can read about what they can do and where they are suitable for:
Attack:Handy Drone that shoots forward with you. Since you also have to collect your Geoms there, this helper is very suitable in most (especially large) levels. Forward is the motto, yes even (or especially) when there are many enemies there. Super tip: very useful in levels where enemies emerge from large shapes: shoot from the center at one shape and collect the Geoms. So, don't shoot randomly: it will only get crowded and therefore dangerous.
Defend:Shoots backward. Handy in "maze levels" where enemies only come from 2 sides. Less useful in open levels, as enemies also come from the sides.
Collect:Doesn't help with shooting (the reason why this one is rarely chosen), but collects Geoms for you. Often useless because you can do that yourself once you've practiced a bit. I can imagine it being somewhat useful in levels with the centrifuge.
Snipe:Shoots enemies around you, but when it gets very crowded, this Drone is simply too slow. In higher levels, this Drone shoots down enemies in one go that you would have to hit multiple times.
Sweep:Circles around you like a shield. Handy when a lot is coming at you, but keep moving!
Ram:Collides with nearby enemies. At higher levels, it also shoots. Just too slow when it gets really busy.
TurretShoots around in a circle. Handy for beginners, not for the pros. With this Drone, you can't build up your multiplier as effectively! It's simply impossible to collect all Geoms. That's necessary to build up your multiplier before it gets hectic.
Bait:Attracts enemies towards itself, so they don't come straight for you and you can shoot them down from there. Also shoots in higher levels. The most expensive Drone, but in my opinion, works poorly. The "magnetic effect" is too short.

Each level has its own Drone. So, think about which one fits best with the type of level and the type of enemy you encounter. But in general: on many planets, it's not very busy at the beginning, and you can easily increase your multiplier. So, if your Drone starts shooting randomly (as with Turret and Snipe) or shoots in the opposite direction like Defend, you won't be happy about it!

Personal tip:
Why are the multiplier and Geoms important in Geometry Wars: Galaxies?
Grotehaas

Go for the Geoms! Even though it often costs lives in the beginning.
- With each geom in Geometry Wars: Galaxies, the multiplier increases.
- A high multiplier leads to high scores. This multiplier goes up to 150x and is definitely worth it.
- Geoms can be used to purchase planets (=levels) and Drones.
- Geoms grant you extra lives and bombs.

Personal tip:
When should I use bombs to maximize my score?
Grotehaas
15280

For extra high scores: only use your bombs when your multiplier is above 100! It's better to use a bomb three times with a high multiplier, than to use one when your multiplier is low. If you end up losing right after using a bomb, that would be a waste.
I really only use bombs as a last resort, except... There are times when you're close to reaching the score for a medal and you end up losing, maybe you overlooked an enemy in the chaos. Those last few hundred thousand points will be hard to achieve because the multiplier is back to 1x and it gets busy again right away. Sometimes, just to be safe, I use a bomb when things get chaotic and I'm not immediately threatened. You start again with a clear field, where you'll definitely score a lot of points... thanks to the high multiplier!
