Monotonous levels and dim-witted enemies, but enjoyable weapon system Far Cry: Vengeance is quite a fun game. Unfortunately, it does come with its fair share of drawbacks. For instance, the levels are rather monotonous, and the graphics don't exactly win any beauty contests! Your adversaries also seem rather dim-witted! It takes them an hour to take you down. However, there are certainly some advantages to the game as well! Like the dual-wielding weapon system (unfortunately, it's with the same weapons) and there are plenty of weapons and vehicles to choose from. Regrettably, the vehicles handle terribly! A slight bump and you're doing a full somersault! In short, an enjoyable game but it does come with quite a few downsides. Cijfer:

Disappointing graphics and gameplay in Far Cry: Vengeance I played Far Cry 1, and I really loved that game. Then I saw Far Cry Vengeance. Of course, I thought: BUY! I started playing it and I thought: Do I have an N64 game here? The graphics are just heartbreaking! But well, Far Cry is Far Cry, so I gave it a chance. You have to walk through a jungle a bit, but actually, you just have to follow a path. Basically, all you have to do is walk and shoot. And then there are those vehicles. Fortunately, there are quite a lot of them, but if you steer even a little to the left or right, that vehicle does a triple screw with a nice somersault afterwards. Not really good at all. A big advantage is that there are many weapons. Some of these weapons you can carry Akimbo (in two hands). Another advantage is that you can just throw someone away with your hands, or kill them in one go. But this isn't even necessary because it takes your opponents an hour to hit you once. So, to put it mildly, this game is: Bad. Cijfer:
5,0Unique animal transformations and dual-wielding weapon system Far Cry: Vengeance is a game that I really enjoy, as you play as some dude in the jungle trying to survive. I really like the dual-wielding weapon system, although it's a shame that the weapons have to be the same. I also think it's cool that you can transform into some kind of animal, allowing you to run faster, jump higher, and kill someone with a claw swipe.
The downside is the multiplayer, as it's limited to a maximum of 2 players. Cijfer:

Review Farcry Vengeance This game is actually quite incredibly super unbelievably bad. I have no idea what the story is about... I've played for over an hour and still don't get it. You get knocked out by 2 guys in the opening scene (well, one of them, the other one just stands there). Then you wake up tied to a chair and after some stupid chatter with those 2 guys, you easily escape and shoot everyone (they deserve it, of course). Graphically, it's nothing to write home about either. Okay, it was a launch title, but even used toilet paper looks better! The controls are okay. You can tweak them a bit and with some practice, you'll figure it out. (Why can Metroid Prime 3 get it right from the start..). Hitting your opponents can be a bit tricky at times but they are so dumb that they usually just stand still. There's also a predator mode, but you shouldn't even bother trying to understand it. Just watch the movie instead. (I mean Predator, not Far Cry: Vengeance, that one is bad). Conclusion = disappointing Cijfer:
4,0Poor graphics! Poor gameplay! Poor... There's no way you can aim properly like this. The poor graphics of Far Cry: Vengeance quickly bring down the rating. The levels are also monotonous. It doesn't look special at all. The multiplayer mode isn't very enjoyable either.
There's an abundance of vehicles and weapons, but that doesn't mean they're good. Because the vehicles can't even steer properly. A slight turn to the right or left, and it thinks you want to start performing stunts, like a few spins followed by a nice somersault. Furthermore, the AI is really laughable. You can just push them aside. They hardly ever manage to shoot you (almost) dead.
Better off buying Call of Duty (MW3)!!! Cijfer:

Mediocre, quickly becomes boring, but lots of vehicles and weapons Far Cry: Vengeance is an extremely mediocre game. The graphics are really poor, the missions are boring and monotonous. You almost always have the feeling of "do I have to do this again". However, it is fun to use the various vehicles to cruise around the island a bit. There are also quite a few weapons available, and of course, it remains enjoyable to make life difficult for enemies. Cijfer:
6,0Okay, what?! This is just really bad! Okay, Far Cry: Vengeance? You're making a game for the Wii? Wow, that's cool! Oh wait, not really. The graphics are so, so poor!! Not to mention the controls! And when you're close to enemies, you don't even have to worry, they won't shoot you dead anyway! Cijfer:

Very fun but not very pretty. This is a very fun game if you don't pay attention to the graphics. It looks a bit like a very old game. However, the gameplay is smooth and there are many different options, and the world is vast. There are also a lot of vehicles. So, Far Cry: Vengeance is worth it if you're not sensitive to a game's graphics. Cijfer:

Poor graphics and unclear missions, but cheap I actually think Far Cry: Vengeance is a bad game. The graphics are poor, the enemies die too easily, and the missions are never clear to me. But it didn't cost much, so that's a plus :P. Cijfer:

Quite entertaining, but poor graphics Far Cry: Vengeance is actually quite a fun game! The graphics are pretty poor, but there is a wide selection of weapons and vehicles. Cijfer:

Developed by Ubisoft, "Far Cry Vengeance" provides intense combat, stunning environments, and an exciting story. And that makes me super happy!
Historical Context
"Far Cry Vengeance" was released in 2006, specifically for the Nintendo Wii. It is a remake of "Far Cry Instincts: Evolution" which was previously on the Xbox. The game utilized the unique control capabilities of the Wii, such as aiming with the Wii Remote and moving with the Nunchuk. While the original "Far Cry" series started on PC and was known for its open-world gameplay, this version offers a more linear experience. It was one of the early titles that attempted to harness the power of the Wii.

The reception of "Far Cry Vengeance" was mixed. IGN said: "The controls are innovative, but the graphical downgrade and linear gameplay may disappoint fans of the original series."
