Disney once again shows that not all licensed games necessarily turn out bad. It still wasn't quite what I had hoped for when the game was announced at E3 2010, but it has definitely become a more than decent platformer in a charming Disney style. Not very innovative or spectacular, but very enjoyable to play. Personally, I would have preferred it to lean more towards the dark side of Disney, like we know from games such as Kingdom Hearts. Disney Epic Mickey is a spectacular game! The story is amazing, and the music is fantastic as well. I'm also very pleased with the gameplay, as the game really makes use of the wii controller. The only downside of the game is the camera. It can be quite frustrating at times as it doesn't always cooperate well. Nevertheless, I am very happy with the game, and the camera issue is insignificant compared to everything this game has to offer.Cijfer:

Atmospheric

The biggest objection to this game lies in its name: how can you call a game "Disney" Epic Mickey when there is no Disney element present at all? The usual amount of optimism/cheerfulness, a clear storyline, and a voice-over for each character: it's all completely absent!
Does that make it a bad game? Not really; there are great graphics, extensive gameplay, and challenging puzzles to solve, combined with quite a few original plot twists. In hindsight, it's a bit of a letdown, but not a total flop. Cijfer:

In this game, you play as the famous Mickey, who has accidentally ended up in a paint world. Here, you have to defeat all enemies with paint and bring color to this gray world. Mickey from the cartoons has transformed into a 3D character, showing a different side of Mickey. Although the world you play in has completely changed into a kind of horror movie, there is still plenty of humor hidden in the game. Epic Mickey really shows that Disney games can also be different from the old familiar, yet somewhat childish Mickey cartoons. That's why this game is also suitable for slightly older players. I have only encountered one downside in this game, namely that the controls are not that good. Cijfer:

Fun to try out
So, I've played Epic Mickey a few times now. I had heard a lot about it, so I had high expectations, but it actually turned out to be quite disappointing. I still can't get the hang of the controls and camera, so for a Speed Mickey Mouse game, this is just too difficult. However, it does have nice graphics and a fun story, so I consider it an average game. Cijfer:

Epic Mickey is a really fun game! It's a shame that you can finish it quite quickly :( I personally would have liked it to be a bit more challenging.
Unfortunately, you can't play together, which would have made the game more enjoyable.
