Fun Multiplayer Mode for Cooking Together
A funny casual game that mainly targets moms who enjoy cooking and also have a Sunday program like Life & Cooking on TV. Just like in the previous Nintendo DS game, the goal of the game is to learn how to cook, but soon you realize that in Cooking Mama, it's limited to digital cooking. You prepare some simple dishes and handle the kitchen utensils using the motion sensor of the WiiMote. Graphically, this game can be compared to an average Japanese cartoon broadcast on Jetix. In my opinion, this game falls into the category of Non-Games, meaning you can't really call it a game. The only thing I did find somewhat enjoyable about this title was the Multiplayer Mode, where you can cook against each other.

Great for the whole family, especially for casual gamers.
Cooking Mama could have easily been a WiiWare game instead of a regular one. In Cooking Mama, you play as "Mama" and engage in various cooking-based mini-games. It's fun for a little while (emphasis on "little"), the game is mainly aimed at the Casual Gamer. So, if you ever have your whole family including grandparents visiting, pop this game into the Wii.

Fun and Funny Playing Together
This is a really funny game, when I sit with my mum in front of the TV and we start this game, we are already laughing out loud. Every time we have to roll dough or something similar, we burst into laughter.
Cooking Mama is a simple game with separate games, mini-games. It's nothing special, but it's fun to entertain yourselves for a while together because alone it's nothing.

Great for multiplayer, less so for solo play
Cooking Mama is a true casual game, one that is mainly aimed at your little sister, the average homemaker, and your 80-year-old grandma. You play many mini-games based on cooking. It's quite enjoyable when played with someone else, but on your own, it's not very exciting. The graphics are just like any other low-budget Japanese cartoon/party game, so nothing particularly special.

No Five-Course Meal, Just a Nice Snack
Coooking Mama focuses on a new concept in the gaming world: baking, roasting, and above all... cooking! The entire game consists of mini-games, each resulting in the creation of a new dish. This ranges from very simple to the most complicated dishes: from omelets to cordon bleu, and from pancakes to milkshakes. The controls work well too, enhancing the cooking fun even more.

You might think this offers enough variety to remain engaging for a long time, but unfortunately, the opposite is true: the movements remain simple throughout the entire game, keeping the difficulty level low. Add to this the fact that the goal of the game remains the same each time: you cook a bit, you cook some more, and that's about it.

All in all, Cooking Mama isn't the game everyone has been eagerly anticipating, but it's still an original way to encourage the use of the Wii-Remote. Additionally, it's a great game to attract non-gamers and thus draw in new audiences (housewives, older individuals, and cooking enthusiasts). So, not a five-course meal after all, but indeed a nice snack to whet the gamer's appetite.

Fun pastime
Fun game for young and old. After cooking a few dishes, you might get tired of it, but Cooking Mama remains enjoyable to play. It has easy gameplay and looks neat overall. The game is just not worth tens of euros. However, for a small amount, it is definitely recommended!

More Fun on the DS
Cooking Mama was a lot of fun on the Nintendo DS, but on the Wii, it's a bit disappointing. Sometimes the controls are not great, but the multiplayer mode is quite enjoyable.
