Poor controls and weak AI make Alone in the Dark unplayable
Alone in The Dark is not a good game in my opinion. The artificial intelligence of the enemies is simply bad, and the enemies are not scary at all. The controls are dreadful, they just don't work well with the Wii-mote. Graphically, it's also below today's standards (even for the Wii). All in all, let this game stay comfortably in the bargain bin!

Only for those who know how the Wii Remote works!
If you can't handle the Wii Remote, you just shouldn't play Alone in the Dark.
I've completed it entirely and it works perfectly.
Okay, graphically it could be better, but overall, it's a good game to play.

Not Worth Your Money!

To keep it short: the world is ending because of a stone?? (very logical) and you have to make sure that the world is saved from this evil.

The graphics were terrible to look at. Blocky, poorly drawn, and just not pleasing to the eye. The gameplay was a disaster. The buttons didn't respond the way I wanted them to, and the camera was not cooperative.

If you're a hardcore gamer and want a really good game for your money, then I would suggest putting Alone in the Dark on your blacklist of games.

Poor graphics and incoherent storyline
When I first started playing Alone in the Dark, it seemed like a fun and interesting game. After playing for 10 minutes, you realize it's actually a very bad game. First, you have to escape from earthquakes, then suddenly there are zombies, and next thing you know, you're in Central Park. The graphics are below average, the storyline is uninteresting, and the game is just rubbish. NOT recommended.

Great Story
You play as Edward Canbry, who is in trouble. Along the way, you encounter the main characters. They explain something to you, to find out more about it, you can play the game. Alone in the Dark has a great story and is well told, although I find the graphics less impressive from Atari.
Pros: great story & unique puzzles

Poor graphics and mediocre gameplay experience on the Wii
Found Alone in the Dark to look very bad. Had already seen it on the Xbox 360 but this was really not nice to look at. Additionally, the gameplay wasn't smooth. The Wii-mote didn't feel right while playing. It seemed like it sometimes didn't respond well. In terms of the story, I found it very boring after just a few minutes. Not really recommended.

Alone in the Dark is a game with a good story and visually the game looks very nice but... The controls are really bad and you have to kill the monsters in the same way all the time.
Fun game but really awful controls, if you can't handle this, do NOT buy the game.

Good concept, a shame about the rest
Alone in the Dark has a good story, creatively designed, which is always a plus.

However, when we set this aside, there isn't much left: the controls are not exactly subtle, the gameplay is at best mediocre, and while the graphics/sound are of good quality, they don't really match, making the game seem quite disjointed. Add to this the fact that the game's style breaks away from a long line of predecessors (the famous "Alone in the Dark" series for PC), and we must conclude that we are dealing with a rather disappointing experience.

Not even fun for the dry days
Alone in the Dark is quite a fun game when you first start playing it, but as you continue, it all becomes nonsensical. You jump from scenario to scenario, and it's difficult to follow the story. The graphics are okay, the controls are poor, the game is simply not recommended.

Great game!
A solid survival horror game! The game features beautiful graphics, and the controls are not too difficult. Logical thinking is required to solve certain situations. Alone in the Dark is highly recommended for those who enjoy an adventure with a horror-like atmosphere.

At first glance it seems impressive, but struggles with some issues
Alone in the Dark for the Wii seems promising at first sight, with beautiful graphics and innovative gameplay. However, in reality, the game disappoints. The controls are awkward and imprecise, there are technical problems and bugs, and the story and dialogues are underwhelming. Despite the nice presentation, Alone in the Dark cannot hide the fact that it is a disappointing experience. For a quality survival-horror experience on the Wii, there are better alternatives available, such as Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. All in all, Alone in the Dark for the Wii is not a recommended choice.

There are 2 types of cabinets you can use in Alone in the Dark. The medicine cabinet and the big grey cabinet. Grab everything you can grab and close the cabinet. Open the cabinet again and it's refilled.
