Mario Slam Basketball for the DS was very entertaining, and I've spent quite a few hours on it. Then came the "sequel" with 3 other interesting sports: Dodgeball, volleyball, and ice hockey. Dodgeball is the sport I never expected to see in the game, but I'm glad it's been added. In my opinion, Dodgeball is even the best sport in the game.
Mario Sports Mix is a great mix of different sports. All four of them are fun to play. Whether offline or online, it doesn't matter! The game offers the possibility to play for everyone due to its easy controls. Yet, the game does have some difficulty. Something for everyone. Great, right? Cijfer:

To start off, I have to say that my favorite is dodgeball (sorry, had to get that off my chest). In this game, you have 4 different sports: dodgeball, volleyball, basketball, and ice hockey (even though it's not always on ice).
In Mario Sports Mix, you can also unlock characters (as some may know from Mario basketball on the DS) from Final Fantasy. In this game, there are also 4 minigames: (I'll give them my own names because I'm not exactly sure what they're called) ice bashing (where you can push each other off an ice floe), feed Petey (you know him? big piranha plant, well, you have to throw all kinds of fruit into his mouth), bob-omb diving (you have to make sure you don't get hit by a bomb), and lastly a cheerful tune (where you all have to catch balls and to the rhythm of those balls, you hear a melody). Not a lot, but fun options!
It's a shame that Mario Sports Mix has few sports, but I do think that those sports are very well developed! Dodgeball is especially my favorite sport! It has never been featured in a sports game before, and the controls make the game complete! I don't really find the new characters very original, but it is a funny concept. Cijfer:

Mario Sport Mix is top!
Mario Sports Mix is a very fun game. It brings a different perspective on sports. It includes four different sports: basketball, dodgeball, ice hockey, and volleyball. The game also features various mini-games, reminiscent of Mario Party. Overall, it's an enjoyable game that can provide hours of fun.
I found it amusing that, just like in many Mario games on the Wii, you can stand next to the world's most famous plumber with your own Mii. It brings you closer to your favorite game characters. What stood out to me the most was that the controls are much better compared to, for example, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This aspect makes the game much better than that one.
The only downside I found with the game is that it could have been more extensive. I think they could have added a few more popular sports. Nevertheless, the game definitely deserves a spot in your Super Mario collection, and it gets a solid 8.5 from me!! Cijfer:

Special attack is awesome!
Mario Sports Mix is an innovative game that will keep you entertained all day long. The special options you get while playing make it even more enjoyable. The gameplay possibilities are not very extensive but rather simple and fun. You can choose from 4 different sports, and there are also mini party games available. The goal is to become the best through tournaments. Every time you complete a tournament, you unlock many extras like new characters and new worlds. There is also a 2-player option.
The matches are either 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3.
However, in the two-player option, you can also team up with each other to compete against the computer as a duo. Cijfer:

Coins, Mario, bananas, and sports = Fun for everyone!
Mario Sports Mix is not a serious sports game. You'll be haunted by ghosts, bombarded with bananas, and have to watch out for vehicles racing across the field!

I've always enjoyed the Mario Sports games. And now that there's one with up to four sports in one game, I just had to get it! I had high expectations, especially since in Mario Party 5 you could already (to some extent) play ice hockey and volleyball. If I found that enjoyable, Mario Sports Mix had to be really fun. The controls were easy to pick up as they are almost the same in every sport. Unfortunately, the matches in each sport tend to drag on a bit, making it feel somewhat one-sided at times. Additionally, the computer-controlled opponents are often too easy to beat. Thankfully, the familiar power-ups and the "living" sports fields make the sports exciting and amusing! Cijfer:

I find Mario Sports Mix to be a fairly enjoyable game. However, contrary to what the professional review says, I find the game harder to play alone than with others. We completed all sports with 3 people, and it was quite easy. Only at the highest levels did we struggle occasionally.
The game has rather complex controls that take some time to master. But once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. The controls for all sports are pretty much the same.

There's a lot of repetition in the game, which is a shame. The same countries are used for every sport, and the order is always the same. Furthermore, the unlockable items are all quite similar.
The items you can use are a nice addition, and using them strategically can be very important! It's a pity that there are only 5 items available.

Small, but excellent!
I think the sports that have been chosen are well developed, but there are only four sports! The menu is nice, and the choice of characters is fantastic! However, if there had been more sports, it would have been a better game... My favorite sport here is clearly dodgeball! This game is a must-have for the avid gamer; it is well-designed and never gets boring. I personally enjoy dodgeball the most, and Mario Sports Mix is pretty much the only dodgeball game available for the Wii. Even though it's not Mario Bros, Mario games are always fun! Mario Sports Mix is a sports game that you must have if you're a sports fan. It may only feature 4 sports, but that doesn't matter! There's always a sport that you'll enjoy the most.
